Russian forces further expand their control in the West of Kupyansk. Its safe to say that the bandera counter-oink has finally expired and the Ukrowehrmacht have been decisively defeated.

Do you remember the war prediction I told you at the beginning of the war? I said at the time, 'The United States will eventually betray Ukraine, and NATO will also betray Ukraine. When this war is over and the next time Russian troops come to Ukraine, the betrayed Ukrainians will no longer resist Russia. And the historical narrative of Ukraine under Russian rule will say that Western countries was bear the responsibility for provoking internal strife in Ukraine and inciting internal war among East Slavs in 2014. The next generation of Ukrainians will inevitably hate the West.'

You mocked my prediction at that time. Do you still think my prediction is wrong now?

I agree with the first part. The entire NATO bloc—including the United States and various European nations—will withdraw from the Russia-Ukraine theater, bringing the war to an end. A new government will emerge in Ukraine.

But.

This new Ukrainian government will, at best, maintain a truce with Russia; a formal peace agreement is out of the question. While Russia might relinquish some of the Ukrainian territory it currently occupies, it will certainly not return all of it—and the new Ukrainian government could never accept such a humiliating set of borders.

Therefore, there is no possibility that a new Ukrainian government would lean toward Russia and against Europe. Russia lacks the capacity to fundamentally transform Ukrainian society.

A more likely scenario is as follows:

The two sides enter a temporary truce, allowing everyone some time to rest and catch their breath—only to resume the conflict once a suitable opportunity arises.
