Russia - Ukraine war part ll. News and Discussions

Nominal GDP is better for knowing how much dollars can this economy buy on world markets, how well it can service foreign debt or import stuff, PPP is better for how much stuff is actually produced and consumed inside the country (rent, food or T-72B3Ms cost far less in Moscow or Delhi than in NYC).

UN, IMF and World Bank all publish both metrics, I guess all those institutions are populated solely by economic dilettantes?

Nominal GDP is the better measure of an economies size, global weight, and economic power.

PPP is worthless on a national scale because it assigns additional dollar value to something produced cheaper in Russia relative to the US. So when economists rank national economic size, nominal GDP is the preferred method because it’s a better measure of economic power. Again, more money equals more power.

Not sure what there is to laugh about @Leclerc Does Russia producing something cheaper mean it created additional industrial capacity, technological capabilities, or globally competitive companies? PPP gives a lot of weight to inexpensive domestic services which is why it’s the third world cope. PPP is a good measure for individual standard of living, not international economic power.

Look at the title and then look at where you have taken this thread yet again.

Think it's time Putin turns Ukraine into a parking lot or finds and slaughters the Dwarf Clown of Kiev.

PAC-3s.

Hope UKR isn't expecting them anytime soon given current inventory levels.
Sale of 500 Patriot missiles to Ukraine, financed by Europe.

At current production levels and need to replenish US stockpiles, UKR will be lucky to see them by 2030.

Some new footage of the refinery attack

damn if they can keep hitting inside Russia and destroy its energy infrastructure, then how vulnerable is Russia now compared to Ukraine/Nato threat

Has Russia responded to nato on this strikes ? Or is this a small no biggie issue

Yeah it’s been a “real thing” from Day 1 AZ.

Ukr hasn’t received a US dime in nearly 2 years now and their position on the front has actually improved. What they do continue to receive is intelligence, targeting, air defense etc.

I’ve been hearing “Ukr lines will collapse” for 3+ years now AZ. It just hasn’t come to fruition. Russian progress is actually regressing, despite its manpower advantage.
Just no convincing you otherwise. Must be some powerful ju-ju in those Twitter reports you follow.

That is why I keep saying that UKR needs to keep hitting Russian refineries. Russia hasn't the spare parts.
