Russian Air Force (VVS)

The claimed range for the missile is 190-200km. This is of course, a "Russian" claim so how close to reality is unknown. Even if true, given that Russia has so few AEW&C/AWACs in theatre, it is questionable if the Su-35S can get the full benefit out of the missile, unless it chooses to try and fly towards the target for the duration of the flight of the missile both tracking and providing updates to the missile.

It will be interesting to see if/when India will acquire this variant and if they can get the best out of the platform aswell.

On paper R-77M is on par with PL-15 and AIM-260. R-77 is on par with PL-12 and AIM-120. R-27 is on par with PL-11 and AIM-7.

AIM-260 true range is still classified, most sources say it is in between 200 to 400 km, If USN newest AIM-174 BVR has a range of more than 240 km and some sources said it also has range of 400 km, so there is no way that AIM-260 has a lesser range compared to AIM-174 lol
