Pakistan captain Sahibzada Farhan created a new record by scoring 238 runs in a three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka, surpassing India's Abhishek Sharma, who scored 229 runs against Afghanistan earlier this year.

Farhan scored his third consecutive half-century, making 76 off 47 balls in the final match on Tuesday.

Farhan breaks Abhishek Sharma's record

Farhan now leads the list for the most runs in a bilateral three-match men's T20I series between two Full Member teams. New Zealand's Colin Munro is third with 223 runs, followed by Australia's David Warner with 217 and Afghanistan's Hazratullah Zazai with 204.

Despite Farhan's strong performance, Pakistan lost the third T20I by eight wickets. The hosts scored 168/8, but Sri Lanka chased down the target with 17 balls remaining, thanks to Kusal Mendis's unbeaten 87 off 47 balls. Mendis was named Player of the Match.

Pakistan had already won the series after victories in the first two matches, winning the opening game by four wickets and the second by 82 runs.

After the final match, Farhan said Pakistan had followed the same plan as in the earlier games and stressed the importance of staying in form.

"The way we set a superb target in the first two matches, today also we had the same plan, but it's cricket; anything can happen. The effort is to stay consistent. When I perform well, I'm even more focused to do well in the next match. It's cricket; you're not always in form. So I'm looking to make the most of it," he said, as per the ICC website.

Kusal Mendis praises Sri Lanka's performance

Sri Lanka captain Kusal Mendis praised his team's bowling, fielding and batting after the convincing win. He also highlighted Kamindu Mendis's contribution following the Powerplay.

"We bowled really well today in the middle period. The fielding was better too, and the batting was excellent. Kamindu (Mendis) batted really well after the Powerplay. He played his natural game, and I did too. We did really well in all three departments," he said.

By the way, I am the furthest away from Cricket so I have no opinion except that the any Pakistani team that takes the field should play their hearts out for the country.
