The largest cargo vessel calling Karachi specks for the fact that country own shipping is almost nonexistent. Foreign carrier are taking away close to usd 5 billions on account of freight. Who would leave such a lucrative port.

Pakistan is actively expanding its fleet from today 12 to 54 by 2030. Target is 80 fleets by 2035. That will save Pakistan close to $3bn/year in freight cost.

Better late than never. But in Pakistan nothing is done until is actually done.

Otherwise, no foreign carrier will leave this port which for them is like a golden egg laying goose.
