Napier Mole Boat Wharf, Karachi.

The construction of the wharves started in 1882, and by 1914 the East Wharves and the Napier Mole Boat Wharf had been completed.

During the period between 1927 and 1944, the West Wharves of the Port, the lighterage berths and the ship-repairing berths were constructed.

Most of these facilities were obsolete by the time Pakistan came into existence in 1947.

In the era of 60s there were two vessel sisters built in Split Shipyard, Split Croatia (Split is a city of former Yogoslavia ). One was the MV.BAGH-E-KARACHI for Karachi in 1964 and other was MV. BAGH-E-DACCA for Chittagong in 1966.

Both were General cargo vessels and sailed under the Pakistan Shipping Line's, which later on became the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC).

After a long journey, both were sent to Gadani, Gadani ship-breaking yard is the world's third largest ship breaking yard located across a 10 km (6.2 mi) long beachfront at Gadani, Pakistan. The yard consists of 132 ship-breaking plots. It is located about 40 km (25 mi) northwest of Karachi, the largest city of Pakistan. In the 1980s, Gadani was the largest ship-breaking yard in the world, with more than 30,000 direct employees.

BAGH-E-KARACHI finally arrived at Karachi on 4th September 1984 for repairs but was instead sold for breaking and sent to Gadani Beach where she arrived on 20th March 1985.

BAGH-E-DACCA finally arrived at Gadani Beach on 23rd January 1985 for breaking.
