Sea Sultan Long-Range MPA | Updates & Discussion

Might be a Lil off topic but HAS for our AWACS and LRMPA is in the books or is it just my wet dream? We saw in OP sindhoor how easy it is to damage a parked Saab , with the new sea sultans coming the threat increases. and we should not remove the possibility of BLA attacks on PN facilities like they have done before.

Actually this supplied first Sea Sultan unit is only for pilots training & VIP transport. Additional and actual LRMPA's currently on going conversion in South Africa will be online by end of this year hopefully
Inshallah. but it's too late as we have been hearing that these will be delivered by first half of 2026.

Yes Brahmos strikes are the most worrisome, we don't have hardened shelters for these bigger planes, and I always thought, over the years seeing so many soft skinned hangars coming up at our bases, that we should have built hardened shelters instead. Now the threat has sadly materialized and we at the moment at not ready for it. Perhaps the existing hangars can be hardened and more soft kill solutions plus better dispersal options cam be implemented in the future.

All future PN LRMPA assets will be placed in Turbat PNS base which is out of reach from Supersonic Missiles like the Brahmos. Also the base will have ample air defence assets as well

Apart from that , PN has been doing some solid efforts in ormara.

I don't know man, Indians will be fielding high speed missiles with ever increasing ranges. The current state on our AD is not promising and Turbat is farther away to have mutual AD cover from nearby airbases. It will require dedicated AD at Turbat. Hard kill AD is expensive anyway for an economy like ours. We should rather invest in advanced soft kill solutions which are cheaper as well as have hardened shelters in place.

The Pakistani air defense systems actually performed admirably well. It’s just that Pakistan came late to the air defense systems mindset late as it has always considered its Air Force as the ideal air defense, so it has saturation and redundancy issues. As it inducts more Chinese and hopefully Turkish air defense systems, it will be in good shape.

We should move towards indigenous solution. Get a TOT from turkey or south africa and then iteratively build on it. You can not depend on foreign countries for air defence and long range vectors.
@Quwa @Ak01 have talked about this. Build an industrial base and develop your own solutions by picking one foreign project.

What we need is an faster hyper-sonic missile induction and a large stockpile along with building up of our kamikaze drone inventory.

ADA has a long way to go IMHO. Induction of HQ-19 and its integration into the eco system.

What we have seen upto now in the IRAN-ISRAEL-USA war is that Hyper-sonic's were not intercepted in most cases. THAAD, land based & SM-3 based on US ships off the coast of Haifa, performed relatively poorly as compared to Israeli Arrow and Davids Sling. Iran has not used its top of the line missiles on the Gulf Region therefore Patriot batteries have been relatively successful there. The Fatah-2 has a terminal glide speed of in excess of Mach 10 and that has worried the Israelis the most after its intro yesterday.

At the moment there is no real defence against Hyper-sonic missiles so we need to induct our own and ensure critical assets on the other side are taken care off in the first 12 hours of any conflict.

what we actually need is 1772715271237.png

also fatah 2 does NOT have a terminal speed of mach 10. I think JamD's calculations, put it somewhere around mach 2/3.
