SMASH SLBM Testing - Nov 2025

That's nothing like that flight profile you see in the video.
It's quasi ballistic, and it's definitely not a cruise missile that flies nap of the earth, which is what you see in the video.
It can, in re entry phase(suppressed trajectory) as shown in diagram

And you're an expert on Chinese weapon naming convention are you? What a clown.
Of course i am not. But we all have something called brain cells and i exactly follow the Chinese footsteps in this matter.

Save yourself from ignorance by doing a small research about the coming words:

Air launched cruise missiles esp the CM-400AKG remains under aerodynamic control via fins, rudders, surfaces rather than being purely a ballistic rocket after boost and it is a key difference with a air launched hypersonic BM like Russian Kinzhal.

Hope this helps.

And you're an expert on Chinese weapon naming convention are you? This coming from someone who believes the houtis shot down a US navy F18 using an anti ship ballistic missiles! Lol What a clown.
When the AC made a super manuever to avoid getting hit by that BM, one of F-18s was lost. That was what Americans reported.

The missile in that video is traveling nap of the earth, i.e. parallel to the ground at just above rooftop level...a quasi ballistic missiles, even in a depressed trajectory, is no way going to fly like that, not at that altitude.

Sure, and you'll believe whatever the Americans say...who's lacking brain cells now?

Of course i won't trust the whole world and instead i will take a nobody forum-er's words for it such as you.

Chinese military industrial complex and their marketers are amateurs and liars for naming a marketed cruise missile as CM-400AKG. They should've named it BM-400AKG. Lol, dude get a life and try to learn. Stop embarrassing yourself and wasting my time.
Is that a cruise missile or ballistic missile?

They used CM as common naming abbreviation not as a Cruise Missile lol

In the original news, SMASH is reported as an Anti-Ship Ballistic Missile (ASBM). If I am thinking correctly, then SMASH is based on Fatah-2, which is a Guided Artillery Rocket System (GARS), classifying it as a type of Ballistic Missile (BM), but not a Cruise Missile (CM). If SMASH is based on P-282, then it is again a BM-type missile. Finally, if SMASH is based on the CM-400AKG, then it would be a quasi-ballistic missile (BM), or a highly maneuverable/diving anti-ship missile. While its flight profile is closer to that of a BM, it is indeed classified as a type of BM and not a Cruise Missile (CM).

Speaking of CM-401, there were news some years ago when CNS announced the modernization of fleet and also p-282. That this missile will have the same tech as CM-401 since it was alone for export on that time in hypersonic ballistic missile and i wonder what is changed now? Upcoming Smash-2=p-282 ?

Oh jeez...another one who's taking Wiki as the gospel truth. Fine, you live in your fantasy world mate, I've given up trying to converse with people like you.
Ooh see mama " Main e Matric pass ker liya" ab mien cruise missiles and ballistic missiles per kaam karoun gha.

As far as I know, the class difference b/w a CM and BM is the engine and propulsion system. If it's Air Breathing Turbofan/Turbojet/Ramjet that uses the Oxygen from air to oxidize the fuel and uses the combustion throughout the flight then it's a CM. If it's a Rocket Motor with Liquid/Solid fuel and Onboard Oxidizer and uses the combustion for initial booster stage only then it's a BM.

CM-400AKG uses a Rocket Motor and is classified as a Quasi-Ballistic Missile because of no conventional ground launch system, the trajectory, speed and range limitation, and use as Tactical Weapon rather than Strategic. It's more close to Guided Rocket Artillery like the GMLRS F1 and F2. These systems share technology of BM but use case is limited to Tactical rather than Strategic.

@Corax is correct in classifying it as QBM, as far as I know.

Madrasa education can only get you so far I guess.
Keyboard expert at its best by the way people like you in real life can't make difference between underwear and softwear but here with wrong country flags trying hard to downgrade our capability.

Mohan Sharma open up with correct country flag.
