Somalia Reportedly Agrees to Acquire Pakistan’s JF-17 Fighter Jets

Okay, with what money? Also, the current Somali government is extremely weak and on the verge of collapse. What is even the point of this?

From what I recall seeing in the news, the Turks are reconstructing their airforce for them. Even so, a small order of 5-6 JF-17s may be possible, like how Nigeria only ordered 3? Turks could help them foot the bill.

Turkey and China can offer cheap drones that cost a couple million and they can do the same trick to the militias in toyota pick up trucks as a jet fighter could. Somalia is very strapped for cash and china even gave free military goods to somalia like armoured vehicles in the past. Plus getting a drone shot down in a much lesser loss than losing an experienced pilot and a jet fighter too.

For dealing with al shabab even FPV drones can do 99% of the trick against them let alone a CH-4 /Wing long 2 which has payload of up to 350 - 450kgs and around 1-2mil dollars is enough explosives to take out nearly all targets in somalia.

But who knows maybe somalia is just gearing up for a bigger war against somaliland and strike ethiopia for 2nd ogaden war as Ethiopia is already in a civil war at the moment.

Everything has its place

Somalia may not need 50 JF17s

But a small airforce of 10-20 jets may be sufficient to give their military the support it needs in vital battles

ALOT is happening behind the scenes
Financial support will come from different countries
Drones will also be purchased
And Pakistan support on the ground will also be there to set up the Somalian airforce

Ultimately this is not just about Somalia, but about east Africa, the red sea and ensuring other enemies do not take advantage of weakened states

Yup! I am exactly afraid of technology being exposed to poor customers including Azerbaijan (Zionist President Aliyev).

Sorry Lol man, I never read any articles of TEJAAAAAS including your link. They are full of garbage.

I am just saying we need to be careful to sell our valuable jets and must find good reliable customers.

Ofc I am optimistic that Pakistan is going in the right direction, I love my country

"Poor customer", "zionist", "technology being exposed"

China evidently don’t agree with you.
