South Korea's most powerful rocket, the Hyunmoo-5. The Hyunmoo-5 missile system is currently the most powerful in South Korea. The Hyunmoo-5 missile is capable of carrying an 8-9 ton conventional warhead and penetrating deep into the ground, destroying underground bunkers. The Hyunmoo-5 missile weighs about 36 tons and is capable of hitting targets, presumably, at a range of up to 3.5 thousand km. By reducing the weight of the warhead, the missile's range could be about 5,000 kilometers. The missile has warheads with a independently targetable reentry vehicle (MIRV), which allows it to hit multiple targets. The Hyunmoo surface-to-surface missile is considered one of the key assets in the three-axis deterrence structure against nuclear and missile threats from North Korea.

The South Korean Navy has released footage from inside its P-8A Poseidon anti-submarine patrol aircraft. The Boeing P-8 Poseidon anti-submarine patrol aircraft was developed in the United States in 2009 to replace the Lockheed P-3 Orion aircraft. The Boeing P-8 Poseidon can carry up to 9 tons of weapons and has 5 internal and 6 external hardpoints for various types of weapons.

Looks like there is a need for a South Korea 🇰🇷 defence forum section as SK ramps up efforts to become a major defence exporter eg Fighter aircraft etc. @Waz @Musings

South Korea has equipped its K2 tanks and K21 infantry fighting vehicles with folding mesh "braziers" to protect against drones. These braziers were first installed on Russian tanks, and a version of the brazier appeared on Ukrainian armored vehicles shortly afterward. It's worth noting that the installation of the braziers on these tanks once again confirmed that there is still no other effective defense against FPV drones. In the Korean version, not all parts of the tank are covered.

On October 8, South Korea conducted the first successful test launch of a hypersonic glide vehicle (HGV). The test was observed by the President of the Republic of Korea, Lee Jae-myung. The glide vehicle successfully separated from the booster and traveled along the designated trajectory at hypersonic speeds. Subsequently, the glide vehicle descended, maneuvering both horizontally and vertically, and struck the intended target.
