Marriage Mystery - SOLVED!
This evening, I noticed my husband was acting strange.
We’d made dinner plans at our favorite restaurant. All day, I’d been shopping with my gal pals, and I thought maybe he was upset that I was running twenty minutes late - but when I arrived, he didn’t mention it at all.
The conversation felt awkward. I suggested we leave and go somewhere a little quieter so he could share what he was thinking. Bless him, he agreed - but when we got there, he still didn’t open up.
I pleaded with him to tell me what was wrong.
He said, “Nothing.”
I asked, “Honey, is it my fault?”
He replied, “No, honey, it’s nothing. Don’t worry about it.”
On the way home, I told him how much I loved him. He smiled slightly but just kept driving. At home, he sat in silence and watched TV. I was devastated. I felt like I’d lost him. He seemed so very far away.
Eventually, I went to bed, heart heavy and broken.
About fifteen minutes later, he came to bed and fell asleep immediately.
I lay there crying, convinced his thoughts were with another woman.
My world had stopped turning.
Then I went into his office and read his diary. It said:
“A two-foot putt! Who the hell misses a two-foot putt?!”
