Syrian Civil War and The future of Syria after liberation

Why are they so obsessed with PKK? Are they ideologically brothers? Sure I've seen photos of YPG with Oçalan's photo, but they also seem a bit different in mentality than the PKK.
Ocalan was based in Syria with the courtesy of Hafız Assad. He created a base of supporters there. After Turkey threated Syria with all out war, Öcalan fled to Iraq.

Not all Kurds are PKK sympathizers there but YPG silenced other groups, and gained controlled of the area.

To me it has no difference, there are PKK members from Iraq in their ranks, they cross the border and do terrorist attacks.

Links to Al-Qaeda and ISIS

Jawlani quickly became a close associate of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, Al-Qaeda’s leader in Iraq.

After Zarqawi’s death in 2006, Jawlani moved to Lebanon to train militants and later returned to Iraq, where he was reportedly detained by U.S. forces at Camp Bucca.

It was here that his extremist ideology solidified, and he forged ties with future ISIS leaders. In 2011, amid Syria uprising, Jawlani returned to establish Jabhat al-Nusra, an Al-Qaeda affiliate fighting the Assad regime.

However, in 2013, when ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi announced a merger, Jawlani rejected it, siding with Al-Qaeda’s Ayman al-Zawahiri instead.

But the Iranian trolls said HTS was working for the Zionists, Im confused. lol

Err, how does setting clear parameters on your poodle not make the poodle a poodle?

Even poodles can get ideas not to your liking at times.

They are being told to double up on making sure that no weapons reach Hezbollah from Syria as otherwise they will be "punished".

By 2016, Jawlani announced Nusra’s split from Al-Qaeda and rebranded it as Jabhat Fatah al-Sham. In 2017, the group evolved into HTS, incorporating other factions under Jawlani’s leadership.

Over time, he shifted focus from global jihad to a localized agenda, seeking to establish an Islamic governance system in Syria .

Anyways all of this is public information you can look it up yourself. Not sure what you expect from China in this situation.

People do not understand that China is around at least a decade away from creating its own economic, technological and military eco-system.

Without this and also getting a large share of the "Global South" invested in the Chinese alternative order, it cannot do much to influence events in regions like ME.

Also it needs to reclaim Taiwan both for national prestige and strategic reasons - access to deep waters of the Pacific. PLAAN will then be much less susceptible to blockade by USN.

China never ever claimed to be a superpower to my knowledge and so not sure why anyone is saying they did.

In 2021 interviews, Jawlani claimed to have abandoned Al-Qaeda’s global ambitions.

Aasserting that HTS solely aims to overthrow Assad and establish Islamic rule in Syria.

He labeled the “terrorist” designation against HTS as unfair and politically motivated.

It's like Assad playing Sacha Cohen.

So - what do the Turkish cheerleaders have to say about this creeping occupation of Syria by Israel ? Is this the plan??? Is it all going to plan??? I know Erdogan wants to do a "victory" lap in Damascus, does he still think he can if Israel occupies it ? Israel is well on the way to occupy it now. He had "better" get a move on soon.
Is it beyond imagination to think that Erdogan may prefer an Israel 'managed' Syria to Assad ruled cauldron of witch's brew?

Under Jawlani, HTS has implemented a governance system in areas under its control, including courts, police, and administrative bodies.

While claiming to uphold justice, reports suggest otherwise and accuse the group of suppressing dissent, torturing detainees, and adopting harsh measures against rivals charges Jawlani denies.
