Ok this makes no sense to me.

Betray China which will be the next hegemon in Asia for faraway USA that tried to choke your economy for 3 years, killed hundreds of thousands of your soldiers and also cost you hundreds of billions of US dollars in lost revenue and military asset destruction?

Some people take this 'white brotherhood" stuff too far and anyway Russia is not as white as people think it is and is not a western nation, although it is majority white.

PS - China is(nearly) a foolproof market and supplier for anything Russia produces and needs and it is right next door over the border. Within 5-10 years then Russia can import anything it wants from China at world leading level.

So they will do dawah rather than enforcing minutias of Fiqh. But at the same time limiting elements to things traditionally present in Syria. No HDTV parades or "Slut marches" I guess. lol

This is closer to the Erbakan Model than the Talib model or the Saudi Model from the 90s. Closer to Brunei and Malaysia probably slightly more conservative.

Wonder how much of this is influenced by the Turkish contact and Ibrahim Kalin and others. lol

Indonesia model probably, islamic outline but with tolerance for dissent and liberal incursions.

The IMF hit Russia with their shock therapy in 90s but they had the resources & a leader with the backbone (Putin) to fight back and restore Russia’s rightful place in the world.1734202349005.jpeg
China has become by far Russia's biggest trading partner. Whatever drop in exports there is from western countries is more than offset by the huge rise in China's exports to Russia. The surge in China's exports is one of the biggest pillars of support for Putin's war economy. Russia and china economy are compliment to each other unlike that with the United states. The US is no longer a net oil importer.

A lot of the lost trade from Europe/US to China is now permanent.

Lots of Russian goods and weapons are now designed to work specifically using Chinese designed components like chips.

It is not a case of swap a western chip in and switch back on.

Trade between Russia and China has doubled since the start of the Ukraine war.

Russia sells oil, gas, foodstuffs and other natural resources to China and in return gets manufactured goods.

Indonesia's model is too secular for these guys. Its more Malaysia. Malaysia has an officially declared place for the religion in the state rather than Pancasila.

China still have some uphill battle to get through like ramp up production in semiconductor and commercial aircrafts like c919 and c929. China is also diverting attention away by invest more in latin america in America own backyard. Trump is isolationist while china is expanding all over the world through its Belt and road initiative. Trump would be better for china than Biden.
The value of China’s overseas investment and construction combined since 2005 is approaching $2.5 trillion. Does Trump have the financial resources to compete with china globally. I doubt it. At the end of the day, money talks.
