Zarif has always been suspicious of the Iranian support towards Palestinian resistance groups. Thats been his outlook that unique even amongst the reformists.

He started attacking those who demanded Iran respond to the Ismael Haniyah assassination. And even before that, he was harsh in his words in saying Iran should not be willing to fight the US and Israel on behalf of Palestinians.

There is a reason this guy gets the chummy interviews with Western news anchors like Charlie Rose and Zakaria, and for example people on the principalists side of Iranian politics are treated far more harshly.
