As of today, the Syrian military under President Ahmed al-Sharaa has integrated foreign Islamist fighters into senior positions, reflecting their significant roles during the civil war. Reports indicate that out of nearly 50 new military appointments, at least six have been assigned to foreign nationals, including individuals from China’s Uyghur community, Jordan, and Turkey, holding ranks such as colonel and brigadier-general.
At least during dictator Assad the system was more inclusive right? ministers of defence were sunni arabs, not dual citizens of turkey. Do we have alawite, Christian, Druze ministers now (genuine question)? At least only Golan heights was occupied, now it's worse.
