I am just saying that the UAE has been hosting Al-Assad family members (prominent ones too) during the hight of the Syrian Civil War and even (apparently) afterwards (some remnants at least).I don’t think uae would family that weren’t involved in the conflict at least on the surface aren’t really thought after I’m sure like everyone else they profited from Syrias corruption but that would make most Arab and Muslim leaders family worldwide guilty of the same thing.
UAE nor Saudis are going to be courting Bashar to come live with them and if Putin did give him short notice that would mean Bashars cash stash is running low to pay off bribes to keep him safe in Russia Bashar is irrelevant no one is even mention him accept jolani and better off to keep him out of Syria he’s a laughing stock but bring him back to Syria to be hanged you make him a martyr really quick.
Let’s be honest and I’m just going to throw a blanket accusation to all groups during the Syrian civil war they have all been part of some kind of war crime none of them are innocent many on each side used brutal tactics on civilian and military targets so honestly if people want to start fresh they should all be honest of brutal tactics from all sides no one is innocent during Syria war but civilians
I don't agree with this logic. He is highly relevant for the millions of Syrians that lost loved ones due to his regime either directly or indirectly. People (Syrians) want to have those responsible for 40-50 years of crimes during the Al-Assad regime, being held accountable one way or another. It is only natural.
That is like saying that Palestinians should not be pursuing Netanyahu and other Israeli figures for war crimes or other crimes if they had such an opportunity. Most Palestinians would love to see that happening. Most people for that matter.
Of course there are no saints in wars, less so civil wars, but you and I both know that the Al-Assad regime could have prevented most of the bloodshed if they had reformed/listened to their own people rather than slaughtering them and inviting foreigners in (Iran and Russia) to help kill them on a massive scale. Of course such behavior gives rise to extremism. Once again, think about Hamas as a reaction/creation of Israeli actions. Same sound logic.
Why have their own separate villages? They, like other foreign volunteers (Chechens, foreign Arabs, Turks etc.) have all largely integrated into Syria (after all those years) learned Arabic and many even married local Syrians. By all accounts they are no different than you as an American-Arab or the Arab/Muslim communities in the West. Part of the social fabric/country now. Their off-spring will be as well.is it me or do Uyghurs need their own village not a fan of jihadists but honestly if they can live in peace they should be settled in Syria and maybe have their families brought to live there.
Ps when I say their own village more of reward than segregation as long as they decide to live in peace and build up Syria why not reward a group that was a large part of jolani victory
As far as more extreme elements, I agree, and I think that the Syrian government has made guarantees to countries that they will not be used against them to create harm. Which is fair, they came to Syria for a cause to remove the Al-Assad regime and protect/help fellow Muslims and that should be it. If they want changes in their original homelands, they should leave Syria.
BTW I saw plenty of interviews with Chechens and Uyghurs speaking in fluent Arabic (of course with an accent in many cases) talking about their experience and personal histories and what they went through and saw. Quite interesting from a military perspective.
