Low cost and low flying wired tiny to small drones are being deployed by regular militaries as well as militias and (terrorist) groups across the hot zones around the globe.
I saw a clip on twitter taken from inside a school van (or minibus) being driven to school somewhere in KP .. the camera first pans to the driven speeding the van and then to the children cowering in the gaps between the seats and then peers outside the window showing Pakistani soldiers are using rifles and shotguns to shoot at FPV and other types of drones heading towards them and the school van. the clip ends as the van drives fast and away from the scene.
obviously Pakistan currently doesn't have all the resources shown in the video nor the political unity to deter the drones flown from within KP or from Afghanistan but there are opportunities to employ effective tactical solutions at smaller and les complex scale to deter the drone threats against state personal, police and military as well as school children and medical staff that is regularly targeted by Terrorists and their Afghan cousins.
back in the days.. India had brought Hind gunships as well as Jump jet harriers really close to the LoC to use in any future wars in Pakistan and there were tactics taught and rehearsed by all deployed troops to counter them. ordinary infantry, Army AAK AAK batteries as well as PAF forward observation posts. with something as simple as a person with binoculars .. listening and looking for any hostile flying objects and then communicating the threat after revving the field phone lever few times. now he may be looking or listening for these drones and army / airforce / navy will employ some tactical level mobile and easy to deploy sensor equipment and small radars to detect the tell tale frequencies , buzzing sounds and radar ID's bit further than the human eyesight and serve as the first lair for defence where
