Foreigners always fail to notice that although Taiwan occupies the biggest islands in the south China sea, China never ever has had any problems with them.
This is a tacit agreement that islands occupied by either PRC or ROC are part of China, PRC and ROC secretly support each other in the South China Sea.

Taiwan is irrelevant as military power that’s why nobody makes a fuss. Do you think anyone in Vietnam takes the Taiwanese army seriously?
