Tesla Vehicles Megathread

Well for one determining the status of red/yellow/green street signal lights. That's sort of important when driving you know. Also if the car infront of you hits the brakes.

Well LiDAR nor radar certainly isn't going to help you with color at all no matter where their location is. Only a good vision system is going to figure it out.
So you think if lidar could detect colours then it would be better than cameras?

Can it seen in night? What level is that 3 or 4?

So this guy's experience basically mirrors mine. He finds it amazing and thinks those who somehow feel it doesn't work are crazy and says the roads of the world would be much safer if AI was doing the driving instead of people.

My baby....

After a year of ownership:

Pros:
  • Great savings on fuel/electricity especially when most of my charring is at work, minimal at home.
  • "Full tank" every day
  • 24/7 surveillance
  • Phone key
  • Autopilot does help indeed
Cons:
  • Aside from battery replacement 10+ years or so down the road, not much.
I agree with all your points 👍

also add

Pros:
  • Lots of voice commands (including for map/music searches)
  • One pedal driving
  • Effortless acceleration
  • Quiet
  • Streaming music (eg Spotify but may be ending) Almost every song available just by saying "Play [X ] by [Y]"
  • Web browser (I watch youtube all the time while waiting)
  • Dog Mode (keeps the A/C on when you leave the car. Great for people too). I go inside some fast food place and leave people in the car.."engine" shuts off, doors lock, alarm beeps..yet the A/C stays on. Awesome.

Dog mode [just voice command "Turn on Dog Mode"]

I have a red 2023 Model Y Long Range.

Make sure you grab the FREE FSD this month!!

I didn't realize I had it available. You have to accept the terms of the second button first before it allows you to accept the third button (FSD Supervised) terms. I don't remember having to do this back in April when they offered FSD for free. So I was going straight to the third button and it wasn't letting me enable it. Then i realized you need to enable the second one first.

Post a FSD review in "Members Club".

One notable update from the company is that it has now installed its 60,000th Supercharger globally. Japan is really not a major market for Tesla, but it brought in the special occasion with its 600th Supercharger stall. It’s also a reminder of how core Superchargers are to Tesla’s business, no matter where Tesla is selling cars.

Self driving cars are cool, no doubt.

Well this FSD version 12.5.4.1 is definitely "driving like Grandma" compared to the April version.

I may have to put it in "Assertive" mode because it is just way too timid. Although it seems to me the version they first put out in wide release is usually toned down just so people don't get caught off guard.

TBH, while I like the auto pilot and all. I just dont feel comfortable letting drive itself unless I see a very empty street. Even though I have seen amazing ways that auto pilot has saved the driver and people around.

This guy would have been squished twice if it weren't for the sensor's quicker than human reaction.

I just got back from driving through Harvard Square at night...which is a mess of weird turns, tight streets, construction, pedestrians, bicyclists, joggers, and scooter people all over the road. Worked perfectly. Actually FSD works smoother at night.

Here's an example of an entitled idiot you have to deal with
