Only 3 Countries can produce lithium-ion battery systems

ASPILSAN Energy General Manager Prof. Dr. Ahmet Turan Özdemir:

As ASPILSAN Energy, we produce the battery for the KAAN Fighter Jet, one of Turkiye's signature projects.

There are only 3 Countries in the world capable of designing and manufacturing high-performance, mission-critical, aviation-grade lithium-ion battery systems, such as those for 5th-generation fighter jets, and Turkiye is one of them.

The alternator, generator and control units we developed for the KAAN Fighter Jet

VOLT Technology was established to develop advanced technologies, bring them into serial production and support Türkiye's indigenous defense programs

We succeeded in developing a product that had never before been produced in Türkiye and that perhaps only 5 Countries worldwide are capable of manufacturing

Comparison of generator powers of some Fighter Jets

▪︎ KAAN: 2x125Kw .... 250 kw (developed by Turkish company VOLT )
▪︎ F35:3x80Kw .... 240 kw
▪︎ F22: 2x65Kw ... 130 kw
▪︎ KF-21: 2x65Kw .. 130 kw ... (Collins aerospace from USA)

NO.

LG Chem and Samsung in South Korea
Toshiba, Hitachi, Panasonic and Maxell, Japan
SAFT in france,
and some others.

After the deal between Türkiye, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia we can expect Pakistan and Saudis to become major operators of KAAN. The alliance has absolutely made sure of that.
Maybe, but until the 100% turkish engine (not for tomorrow), they will ask uncle Sam if he agree....

KAAN will began flight testing with TF35000 in 2032 assuming there will be no delays.

It would require 2-3 years of flight test at minimum considering they gets everything right at the first attempt.

So the earliest KAAN block 30 with indigenous engine will arrive in 2035. (Again, assuming there will be no delays)

"- Türkiye is also continuing its efforts to develop a completely domestically produced engine. Officials see 2035 and beyond as a more realistic timeframe for mass production."

As we said 2032-2035 period for indigenous TF-35.000 Engine

If the US hadn't supplied 80 F-110 engines for KAAN, the Ministry of National Defense R&D department would have implemented GUCHAN engine through reverse engineering and additional new technologies

According to MSB-ARGE A total of 6 engines have been produced to date

TUSAŞ CEO:

"We will be producing the TF35000 within the next year, and ground tests will begin in the following years.

Turkiye is on right path, they need time which is normal for such critical technology to design, test, and mature. Turkiye in next 5-10 years will have a greater control over its defense needs than it has today.

Get over this, nobody talks about it anymore. Not even one from the defense industry officials or from government made a comment about it. They act like, nothing happened.

Because 80 F-110 engines were not vetoed by the US Congress

TAI is working to have the F-110 engines available by 2027
No need GUCHAN Engine

We focused on the TF-35.000 5th gen Turbofan Engine which will be produced the next year
