Trio of JF-17s Land in Azerbaijan For ADEX 2024 !

What a proud moment for Pak. Azeri contract probably very close now....
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev was presented JF-17C (Block-III) multirole fighter jets on September 25, at Heydar Aliyev International Airport. These advanced, lightweight, all-weather aircraft, designed for both day and night operations, were developed as a joint venture between Pakistan Aeronautical Complex, Kamra and Chengdu Aircraft Industry Corporation of China.

The jets have already been integrated into the arsenal of Azerbaijan's Air Force.

Defense Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov reported to Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev. Azerbaijan’s Defense Minister and Chairman of the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex Board, Air Vice Marshal Hakim Raza provided details about the aircraft's tactical and technical specifications, operational guidelines, and key performance indicators.

The JF-17C (Block-III) is a single-engine multirole combat aircraft known for its air-to-air and air-to-ground capabilities, as well as its high maneuverability at medium and low altitudes, making it notable for its effective firepower.

8 JF-17C and 4 JF-17B are on order.

The problem is, selling a fighter jet isn't just about the specifications and price of the weapon. It's the politics as well. When you're selling someone a fighter jet, your competitor is literally companies Lockheed Martin and Sukhoi.

Were it not for that, I am sure the JF-17 would have been in numerous third world air forces by now, to replace old MiG-21s, J-7s and MiG-29s, F-5s and Mirages.
Mikoyan is dead. There is no real Russian replacement for MiG-21 and MiG-29

The large Flanker operators are not touching JF-17
Russia, China, India, Algeria, Vietnam

Your only bet are the small operators. You are looking at total of less than 100 combat aircraft
Angola
Armenia
Belarus
Ethiopia
Indonesia
Kazakhstan
Malaysia
Myanmar
Uganda
Venezuela

I think those were our Mirages the old 70's planes
The Thunders Block III are more lethal

I am a bit disappointed the Nigerians have not picked up at least 40 Thunders, they do have the oil wealth

They likely were more expected to close in deal for 40-50 Thunders

I did recently found out even Mexico does not have a decent airforce anther potential sale
Mirages were carrying the H 4 SOW.
Thunders were carrying REK.
Falcons were providing air cover.
