President Donald Trump revealed on TruthSocial that he has set his sights on renaming New Mexico following the fallout between Canada and the US that saw Lake Ontario's renaming.

President Donald Trump jumped on social media with another swipe at changing the names of major geographical locations – this time, taking aim at New Mexico.

On Sunday, Trump posted a map of the Southwest state to Truth Social, but 'Mexico' within the state's name had been crossed out in red and replaced with 'America.'

Well technically he can. Just like "Lake America" all federal papers could theoretically refer to New Mexico as New America.

That doesn't mean the state has officially changed its name.

Geez nobody has rioted in the streets over Federal papers referring to Lake Ontario as Lake America. Or the Persian Gulf being renamed the Saudi Gulf or whatever it is.
