Canada had the death penalty on the books under Dec. 1998.

The last non-military execution in Canada was in 1962.

You can blame the Liberal Party and Pierre Trudeau for the elimination of the death penalty.

crime was committed in 2009, and Trump ordered this now.
What's taking so long, and how long will it take for this guy to run out of appeals and legal processes to finally be executed.
Even 2009 to now is a long time already, what took so long...

The average appeal time for a death row inmate is 20-30 years, and even if the inmate drops all appeals, there is still a 5-year wait before they go to execution because there are some procedures that cannot be waived since a death sentence triggers an automatic appeal for habeas corpus in both district and US Courts of Appeals.

Folks, this is a serious topic. This will be the first military execution since 1961 and the first by firing squad since Dec. 1945.

Why exactly is it such a serious topic?

Its an excecution.

Those have been taking place in most of the Red States for decades. The fact that its the first Military one shouldn't hold that much of importance.

The man commited a crime and now its time to pay the piper. I mean if its such a big deal, it outta be aired live on FOX News.

Frankly speaking, there are far worse heinous crimes commited in the land of the free everyday from Murder to Rape, but not all get an excecution.

To me there are just two takeaways from this.
- Trump Ratings
- Movie Rights (whoever wins it)

You know, all Politicians have a drawer, cabinet, closet full of stuff they can use to boost Ratings/Opinion.

Trump had dealt quite a storm back in his 1st Term & was pretty confident that he'd win against Democrats/Biden.
