Map is not accurate, though. It just gives you an idea of how large the security zone (Turkish observation and intervention sector) is. There are bases not depicted on this map. One is close to Mosul.

Turkey, Iraq and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) have reached an agreement to evacuate the Makhmour Camp in northern Iraq, according to regional sources speaking to Middle East Eye.

The development follows ongoing peace talks between Turkey and the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) since last year, which culminated in the group’s announcement in May that it would disband and end its armed struggle.

As part of the arrangement, of which the PKK is also a party, the camp is expected to be fully evacuated by September, regional sources said.

Under the deal, some camp residents will be resettled within Iraq, while others will be relocated to Turkey. Individuals identified as close to the PKK but not implicated in criminal activity may be temporarily accommodated in Turkey.

I gave you a like before I read the last paragraph. This is unacceptable. The government is importing terrorists.

Lets see that happens, most will not come to Turkey they will go to Sulamaniyyah, for their own reasons. There are some that are children and elderly, they may be given amnesty, which Turkey has done before for people that turn themselves in. No one that is a fighter is probably going to repatriated. The main thing is that this camp is being dissolved, b/c they were recruiting from there.

Türkiye and Iraq signed a “historic” agreement on Nov. 2 to jointly manage their shared water resources, marking a major step toward addressing the region’s deepening drought and climate challenges.

The deal, described by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan as “important and historic and the first of its kind,” aims to regulate the flow of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers.

“We will sign an agreement with Türkiye regarding how to manage water,” Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein told reporters at a press conference alongside Fidan in Baghdad.
