Turkey Syria - News & Updates

How does the title and link match?

Russia has redeployed some of its ships away from the base but they are still close by in the Mediterranean. Nothing about any aircraft being removed from the Russia air base at all.

With the current heavy fighting, and potential ability of the rebels to attack static and large ships with drones and even rockets, this is just a prudent thing any military would do.
Bashar is done for brother. Syrian economy is destroyed, infrastructure, etc. Iran spend billions to keep him in power but the country just slowly decayed and the regime living off funds by Iran. A political solution was needed because it was unattainable. Now it has come full force.

Iran's ability to move freely in the Levante is officially over!

Yes, he is a goner.

Iran needs to focus on making a deal to keep weapon flow to Hezbollah at least because he’s cooked. The will of the people should have been taken to account for long ago. Maybe they can salvage this one concession.

Bashar Al Assad had big support at the beginning of the war, this is why he retook 70% of his territory back from rebels but it has been 10 years, the people are tired, Kurds are getting usa support and development, HTS getting Saudi billions and SNA is supporter by Turkey with millions of Syrians in Turkey making money, slowly the minds have been changed and now people want Bashar gone for a better future. I expected SAA to be trained in to a battle ready army by now but they cant confront 50,000 rebel attack so might aswell leave power. No deal will be allowed to give Hizbollah supplies, they are next on the hitlist, will become like Hamas, isolated and low level movement.

Its McGurk. this A-hole is responsible for half the problems in this whole war. He was part of the Obama Administration in charge of Syria policy, and now he is the Biden point man.

The vast majority of people never supported Assad especially among Sunni Syrians. Iran and Russia had helped him to regain territory. A political solution was needed to keep the supply to resistance groups. It was never attainable to keep the country divided for this long. This only destroyed the Syrian economy and made them reliant on money from Iran to stay afloat.

This was mishandled from the beginning because we can see that majority of people did not want Assad. This conflict has only caused deaths and suffering to Syria. Yes foreign powers had a hand in it too. Still, the will of the people always needs to be taken in account.

Why don’t we wait and see?

They have not abandoned the Alawite areas yet. Alawite forces will likely fight and those forces are the best equipped and motivated.

Assad is not yet done for and so let us not jump to conclusions. Everyone thought he was gone when the civil war first started.

You are right, we will see. We can’t ignore the pace of the collapse of regime lines all over Syria though.

Whats your religious background if you don't mind me asking? Are you sunni?

Still, they are scared to confront the rebels. Pretty sure the PKK leadership is concerned due to a real possibility of getting backstabbed by the US.

He is not debating "technicalities", he is saying we should be more precise and accurate and not spread false information ourselves.
I am not spreading fake news. I've followed this war from the first day of unrest.

I got pretty good at assessing the ground realities in Syria.

Yes. I don’t do sectarianism like some here do.

My priority is to kick the Jews out of Palestine and the holy city of Al Quds.

It is a disgrace that this tiny religious group occupies Palestine and bullies the neighbourhood.

Lastly, I don’t personally like Assad as he is a brutal dictator and should have made a reasonable deal when the civil war first started. However Hezbollah must have a land corridor from Iran to resist Zionist expansion and to support Palestine.
