How did they get discovered ? Was there a technique, or was it by accident? Is it possible that these devices were planned in the time of Assad, or more recently?
The devices do need power, and network connectivity to function( as simple as a 4g connection, or satellite i guess ? ).

no idea, it could have been assad era, or it could have been recently planted. There were many corrupt officers that would do things for money during Assad's time.

This is good for us, those people there were pro PKK people from the last administration working for Brett McGurk. and also Kurilla(Pro Israel) leaving CENTCOM.
Me personally, I'm kind of getting frustrated with too much timidness from Turkey, things moving too slowly or stuck, and not enough direct action regarding Syria. Turkey should be more forceful in pursuing interests and actively shaping things, rather then staying back and letting things play out. A swift Turkish operation one and for all settle matters in Northern Syria, and would help Syria consolidate that area, stuff off the oil revenue to the PKK and force is out of Syria.

Air Defense Training from the Turkish Army to the Syrian Army!
Chief of General Staff General Metin Tokel conducted inspections and evaluations at the units under the 2nd Army Command.During the inspections, General Tokel also met with soldiers from the Syrian Army who are training in Gaziantep. In the shared footage, it was observed that personnel from the Turkish Armed Forces provided training on the 35mm Modernized Towed Gun (MÇT) Air Defense Gun System to Syrian military personnel.The 35mm MÇT, developed by ASELSAN, engages targets detected by the MAR Radar at a range of 4 kilometers with the AKR radar. The 35mm ATOM Smart Fragmentation Ammunition creates a shrapnel cloud in front of the air target by fragmenting at the desired altitude. The mobile version of the MÇT, called KORKUT, is also actively used.
