Turkey Syria - News & Updates

Which Kurdish faction is arresting these scholars?

PUK, this is in Sulamaniyyah with the Sorani Kurds(southern). The PUK is allied with the PKK.

For reference:

In terms of Inter Kurdish politics

Historically the KDP has been allied with Turkey and PUK with Iran.

The PKK are largely Kurmanji Kurds(northern), the KDP are Kurmanji Kurds and rivals of the PKK. The PUK are domestic rivals of the KDP in the KRG, and usually support the PKK against the KDP.

Though from what I've seen recently, Barzani seems to have been supportive of the PKK in the current matter, but hasn't gone as far as the PUK, which have been supplying Iranians weapons and equipment to the PKK.

Thank you for the summary, very helpful. Does Barzani (KDP) also jail Muslim scholars?

To my knowledge no. The KDP tends to be more Socially conservative Kurds but Ethno Nationalist. So usually they don't harass religious kurdish people, but its an uneasy relationship. The PUK is far more hostile to religious people, and the PKK you already know their story, complete enemies of the deen, who seek to completely remold the Kurdish Psyche into some sort of Neo-Yezidi/Zoroastrian Atheist thing.

That is scary to hear, I didn't know the PKK had such strong alliance with one of the major parties in the KRG. These leftist anti-Muslims have been a real plague on our region, I hope we are liberated from their cancer someday soon IsA.

You don't know nothing about the Egyptian military

I've been to Egypt and Sinai so many times

You don't know what the army is doing in Sinai I've seen it and I've seen the infrastructure for Gaza, I've been in off limits places in Sinai that only Egyptian intelligence, army , and Hamas are allowed anywhere near , we have bigger connections together than people think

This also isn't real, it's Iranian propaganda pages. But Egyptians will meet with Israeli's regularly. They did this leading up to 73 war to collect intelligence and also mislead Israel as part of intelligence efforts, espionage, etc....

Egyptians don't practice an avoidant style of diplomacy. They don't care for taboos. They want to learn as much as they can about the enemy, they don't seek war and aren't seeking a fight but do prepare for it.

@Falcon29

PKK supporters sound like atheists the stuff they're saying on X, uncalled for attacks on the Prophet and Islam, this organization is harassing Kurdish Muslims. I know Syrian practicing Muslims of Kurdish background that while they sympathize with Kurdish plight, they aren't dying on this PKK Hill.

Hopefully Iraqi Shia and Sunnis can come to agreement with Syria and Turkey regarding northern Iraq in future to give it back to Iraqi control and away from PKK control. As of now it's being used as a base to attack Turkey, send fighters into Syria, and maybe assist intelligence efforts against Iran.

Kurdish people themselves live well in multiple Muslim nations such as even Turkey. They're considered whatever nationality they are in their nation and live well. It's not to be compared with Palestinians. Palestinians aren't seeking a ethno state and our situation is much worse.

Palestinians aren't seeking an Ethno State, they are seeking Right of return and they are not seeking an exclusionary ethno state. Its important to understand the meanings of words and not get trapped into the enemy's framing. Palestine has always been multi ethnic and multi cultural, even before the Zionists, from Muslims, to Orthodox, to Armenians to Circassians and everyone else, living there.

Don't give into the Zionist narratives of states, its a ploy. They distract with some Bantustan BS thats landlocked inside Israel as Palestine with no real equality and complete dependent on the zionist host, thats not sovereignty nor nationhood(its about as sovereign as those Indian reservations in Oklahoma, this they call a "two state solution", and its conditioned on Palestinians waiving their international right of return to return to places where they were expelled from as called for with UN resolutions), while systematically expelling them from East Jerusalem, as they did with West Jerusalem and the 48 territories as well as the settlement building in the West Bank.

The Solution is to go back to how Palestine was before, as a state with multiple communities and confessional communities with their rights protected and freedom of movement and the protection of land rights. For that you need a collapse of apartheid and the collapse of the barriers and international law and right of return for refugees.

Agree 💯

I was referring to the PKK vision of a Kurdish ethno state

And how they like to compare their plight with ours

And how they like to compare their plight with ours

There is no ethnic cleansing of Kurds happening and there is no denial of citizenship to the State, that element is what needs to be highlighted for those who argue in bad faith.

If the Israelis give all Palestinians equal citizenship on the land they control(i.e. East Jerusalem and the West Bank and now Gaza with their soldiers deployed) and they stop dispossessing people and allow people to return to the state they were expelled from, there is no Palestinian issue. Thus the comparison fail.

Kurds in Turkey, Iran, Iraq, and now Syria have the same rights as arabs and any other ethnicity and throughout all the areas that the state controls. This cannot be said about the Israeli Palestine matter(which is why its called an apartheid state).

Someone received a few slaps behind closed doors.

Turkish President Erdogan:

As Syria achieves stability and security, all neighboring countries—starting with us—will directly feel its positive effects. Trade will accelerate, investments will increase, and tourism will develop. In the residential areas that were reduced to rubble by the former regime’s barrel bombs, a major reconstruction campaign will begin. As the effects of the oppression that cost the lives of one million Syrians are erased, and as Syria heals its wounds and rises to its feet again, very different winds will begin to blow across our region.
