Turkey Syria - News & Updates

Syria has recorded a surplus in its state budget for the first time in 35 years, with the government saying the 2025 budget ended slightly in the black after public revenues rose faster than expenditures. The development marks a rare fiscal shift for a country that has spent decades running deficits and is still struggling with the long economic fallout of war, sanctions, inflation, and weak domestic production.

Syria is now the Middle East's Germany. 🫡

They curse out Assad, Iran and Hezbollah. This generation will not forgive Iran. It doesn't matter who's in charge.

After they destroyed the radar in Qatar it started to rain, they say that kind radar can infulence the weather. IT is raining in Iran and in Turkiye to.

I knew the UAE was doing this thing to make it artificially rain, perhaps they were stealing the clowds. I don't really understand how it works, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were making artificial droughts to cause conditions for regime change.

Alhamdullilah!

I honestly didn't think he will be caught to face justice for his unspeakable crimes against us. This piece of shit has committed so much terror against Syrians, it's unbelievable. I was convinced he was long gone out of the country and may never be held accountable.

It's a great day for justice. I hope he gets everything he deserves. What a despicable excuse for a human being.

📌 The Syrian government plans to repurpose the Russian-controlled Hmeimim airbase into a training and humanitarian facility.

📌 The base is expected to lose its military role and come under joint Russian-Syrian oversight, with a shift toward non-combat functions.

📌 Damascus aims to use the site to train its armed forces. Syrian authorities are seeking Russian instructors, mainly due to the army’s reliance on Soviet- and Russian-made equipment, while limiting cooperation to ground-force training only.

📌 The base may still serve as a logistical transit hub for Russian operations to Africa, supporting cargo transfers despite reduced military activity.

📌 A full Russian withdrawal from Hmeimim is not ruled out, with Damascus potentially using such a move to declare the end of Russia’s military presence on Syria’s coast.

The moment the Russians move out of that base, Israel will flatten it as it has every single other Syrian base, be under no illusions about that.

That base is one of the few things that is militarily of any value that Israel has not destroyed.

This would be a significant development, considering the Russians have maintained a presence in Syria since Soviet times.

I think its likely a result of the EU trying to remove the Russian presence in the Mediterranean.

Russia doesn't seem to be giving enough in return to justify the base anymore.

The dams in SE and E Turkey are almost completely full. They have to release enormous amounts of water into the Euphrates River which in return flows downstream into Syria and Iraq.
