Turkey cannot stand against the combined might of Russia and Iran.

Putin has just defeated the combined west in Ukraine and won't hesitate to impose his will in Syria.

I am not pro Assad in any stretch of the imagination.

How do we know that will be the case when not only Iran has their own interests in Syria but so does Turkey, USA, etc? Each country supports their own people for their own gain.

It is legitimate concern by you and anybody else, if rebels win decisively and success to form functional goverement in most of the country well they need to cooperate with someone internationally and Turkyie is most logical choice, Syria propped by them would be dangerous entity but that will require time and soft and nuanced activities.
That would be lets say ideal conditions but frankly still many obstacle and uncertain outcomes, one important thing for that is that Iran fall in line and respect choice of syrian people and try to rectify damage done by their meddling into their civil war on the side of the hated regime.
