- For ONLY KAAN with stealth advantage, Gokbora and Gokhan are fine. But you will not field KAAN for next 10 years and majority of the fights will still be fought with your F-16's.

You forget about stealth KIZILELMA and ANKA-3/4 which will enter the inventory in 2026-2027 period ..

and KIZILELMA will carry 185+ km GOKBORA air to air missiles in internal weapon bays

TAI has also ANKA-4 unmanned stealth Fighter Jet project which will have much lower RCS than F-15EX , F-16V , RAFALE , SU-35 , J-10C and all 4,5th gen Fighters

TF-6.000/TF-10.000 turbofan engines will enter the inventory before than the TF-35.000

So both Gokbora and Gokhan need further ranges to meet the new flight envelop for BVR missiles that's now unofficially 250-300 KM. Pakistan India warfare has set that new standard.

India and Pakistan dont have unmanned stealth Fighter Jets

Turkish UCAVs have put forward a "new military doctrine" in the world to be used as close air support for destroying Tanks , Howitzers , MLRS , Air Defense Systems

and Turkish unmanned stealth Fighter Jets will put forward a "new military doctrine" in the world to shoot down 4,5 gen Fighters in BVR combat

Until KAAN enters the game, KIZILELMA and ANKA-3/4 to create a completely different and brand new balance point in terms quantity and cost effectiveness

S. President Donald Trump’s administration is considering the possibility of resuming sales of Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II Multirole Fighters to Turkey, bypassing the sanctions imposed on Turkey under the well-known Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act (CAATSA).

Turkey was subjected to CAATSA sanctions by the U.S. Congress in December 2020 for its purchase of Russia’s S-400 Surface-to-Air Missile (SAM) Systems, which was deemed participation in “significant transactions” with the Russian defense sector.

In order to lift the sanctions, the U.S. president must report to Congress that waiving them serves the “vital national security interests” of the United States, and Congress must approve the waiver within 30 days.

Now, the Trump administration reportedly intends to bypass CAATSA by declaring Turkey’s S-400 systems “inoperable” for Congress, on the condition that Turkey “removes one of the components” of the S-400 (apparently the 92N6E radar). It remains unclear, however, whether this maneuver would be acceptable to Congress.

Qatar doing Turkey a real solid here, the first Eurofighter was delivered in 2022, so 3 years old planes, which isn't bad. They are around 22-24 in service, so they would be liquidating possibly their entire fleet, for Turkey to field a squadron. This should make the transition to the newer Tranche 4 planes easier as Turkish pilots would have already been flying Tranche3A for several years, if the deal goes through.

hmm - odd. What will they replace those units with? ( if at all ? ).

hmm - odd. What will they replace those units with? ( if at all ? ).

They bought too many to begin with. All of Qatar's fleet essentially was bought in the last 10 years. They were being blockaded by the Saudis/UAE and there was a threat of invasion/annexation, so they bought planes from France, UK/Germany/Italy, and US, essentially bought/bribed for protection, so those countries have a vested interest in not seeing Qatar be taken over. They bought Rafales, Eurofighters and F-15EX.

Now though they have too many planes but also they are doing Turkey a solid. They have 22 Tranche 3 planes(plus +2 that haven't been delivered yet), and 12 Tranche 4 planes on order. So their Tranche 4s should arrive in 2028 which will replace the planes they are giving to Turkey now.

I agree - it is very helpful for Turkiye. With the planned orders with the UK, the Tranche 1's and these, how many will that make it for Turkiye as a total ?
