Japans equipments are always topnotch, so that ship is build like that and Americans have old technology in the shipbuilding. What a dilemma

on the other hand , South Korea has already taken massive steps in this direction and possesses a ready made manufacturing infrastructure on USA soil

I think South Korea will win the tender with $10 billion investment in the USA

Yes but those ships whatever company invest they will make money. Lets see how it goes. The US isn't doing it b/c they don't have money, what they want is a retooling and tech transfer of modern Ship building techniques to speed up production.

And in all likelyhood, it will be more than 3, b/c there is no way to produce them on time and cheaply in the US, for the Volume the US govt wants.
