Turkish Defense Exports on a very rapid pace of growth.

Defense and aerospace exports reached $884 million in March, marking a 147% increase compared to the same period last year.

Haluk Gorgun, head of the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB), shared the latest details about defense and aerospace exports on his X account. He reported that defense and aerospace exports in March 2025 achieved a historic increase of 147%, rising from $358 million to $884 million compared to March 2024.

This is a crazy growth rate although I believe that some orders have been delivered earlier due to 9 days of Ramazan holidays. Companies in Türkiye are closed currently due to bayram and will open next monday.

However, as it became known, the Turkish company Kale Arge has developed its own KTJ-3200 engine for SOM missiles, and in the near future will begin its delivery ROKETSAN. Thus, the “French barrier” in the deal between Ankara and Baku has been eliminated, and by the end of this year, air-to-ground cruise missiles will appear in the arsenal of the Azerbaijani Air Force. According to available data, Azerbaijan has placed more than 400 official orders for SOM missiles.

It should be noted that the Su-25 attack aircraft of the Azerbaijani Air Force are undergoing major modernization with the support of Turkish defense companies. Modernization is carried out in two stages with the participation of ASELSAN, TÜBİTAK SAGE and ROKETSAN. As a result, the aircraft will be armed with Turkish cruise missiles, guided bombs and other ammunition.
