Turkish Foreign Policy and Regional Geopolitics

The French won't block Turkiye's participation in any project if the rest of the EU supports us firmly.

The Greeks on the other hand will hide behind the Southern Cypriot regime but I believe that Eastern European pressure could lead to a positive outcome at the end of the day.

They refuse to buy Turkish Artillary for Ukraine with EU funds b/c of the Block by France and Greece, even when they cannot remotely produce the amount of shells Turkey can.

Umm.. Turkey isn't copying weapons being sold by Europe. lol

Those are indigenous designs, not reverse engineered..

And Turkey isn't buying weapons from Allies as much as codeveloping them, in the case of Spain and Italy.
Umm...he he Turkey has a history of copying foreign weapons or using them to make their own designs.

Thats guy a clown. Outside of the J-600, which Turkey did receive License production for, nothing is copied. Turkey never even bought Anti Ship missiles or ATGMs from South Korean. Its just the usual element trying to downplay the Turkish Defense industry. UMTAS was in development before the Raybolt and they are nothing alike in design. A simple look as the fins on the missiles tells you they are different. You don't even have to

Its also a far larger missile. The Raybolt is more in the class of a Karaok, not the UMTAS. The guy should not be taken seriously if he misses such basic facts.

What would Turkey gain from recreating the Eurofighter. There is already something in Development that goes beyond the capabilities of the Eurofighter.

The Meteor missile you can argue, but Turkey already has a development program for a Ramjet missile that is far along significantly in development, we should see test firing soon. At best it functions more as benchmark testing to see how its performance compares to indigenous systems like the Gokhan.

5 minute of basic research on wikipedia would have shown this guy, that the UMTAS missile is not Man Portable, is a very heavy missile with almost twice the range.. Wheras the Korean missile is man portable and half the range.

It's Man portable Equivalent the Karaok Missile doesn't even look like the Raybolt.

This is what the Karaok looks like.

If he had said Javalin, he would have atleast been closer, but again just b/c it looks the same doesn't mean its copied(its a bit more complicated than that) but he randomly said a korean missile.

does this look like the Same missile to you? note the placement of the air intakes. As well as the difference in Fin design.

Thats BS about Gokdogan missile being bought from a US company and for "intercepting cheap drones", I mean thats just laughable. Its not even worth a reply. Do other Greeks take that guy seriously? he is worse than Greek City Times level of BS. lol

idk whether to be upset or be glad that the Greeks are this deluded over Turkish defense industry. lol, Maybe the Greek MoD will think the same(we can only hope, lol). Its all paper stuff for "shooting cheap drones", all will be defeated by Mighty Minotaur. Infact just cut the Defense Budget, don't want it to be overkill and hurt Turkey's feelings.

Sure,Turks woke up one day and had blueprints in their heads, they knew how to make it all.

Again,I have to ask: Why are you getting so happy? It's like me taking a stance between India-Pakistan as if it's about my turf.

lol, you keep guessing and you keep guessing wrong.

Yes.. Its called research and Development. Outside of those missiles bought from China, everything was developed by Turkey. And even those Chinese missiles were the starting point, what came about after Turkey got technical knowledge, was Turkey building on top of that knowledge.

Its almost a shock how Turkey is building weaponary, maintenance, new technologies introduction but as some members mentioned, Turkey has been working hard behind the scenes for decades, researching, education etc and only recently they have announced big projects, ofcourse working with USA and European allies have given Turkey alot of experience and knowledge.

Many of these projects have been in development for the last 20 years, and now the fruit is finally starting to ripen, its not magic, its just long term development. And an intelligent and coherent strategy of development, starting at the small thing and slowly building momentum.
