Turkish Naval Programs

so to say the 1st block is under construction is a bit confusing or did they mean 2nd block ?

This announcement marks a critical milestone in the TF-2000 Destroyer project, and heralds the commencement of the physical construction of the first Ship

The TF-2000 Destroyer construction process will take less time thanks to the experience and technological expertise gained from the ADA and ISTIF class Warships.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

4 ADA class Corvettes were produced and commissioned in approximately 14 years
( 2005 - 2019 )

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

The first Ship of the ISTIF class, TCG ISTANBUL was laid down in 2017 and entered service in 2024 ( 7 years )

7 ISTIF class Frigates will be produced and commissioned in approximately 6 years
( 2023-2029 )

1- F515 ISTANBUL ... ( the delivery is completed in 2024 )
2- F516 IZMIR ... launched in 2025
3- F517 IZMIT ... launched in 2025
4- F518 ICEL ... launched in 2025
5- F519 AKDENIZ ... launched in 2026
6- F520 KARADENIZ ... launched in 2026
7- F521 MARMARA ... under construction
8- F522 EGE ... under construction

I get that

What I don’t get is the conflicting reports of first block construction

This offensive capability exists only in Turkiye within NATO

-- Hypersonic anti-ship Ballistic Missile ( TAYFUN Block-3 )
-- BARBAROS Coastal Defense System ( ATMACA - CAKIR anti-ship Missiles )
-- E-7T AEWC
-- Datalink for network centric warfare
-- AKINCI UCAV armed with 200 km CAKIR Cruise Missile
-- F-16 , KIZILELMA , ANKA-3 armed with 275 km SOM-J anti-ship Missile
-- F-16s armed with 280 km SLAM-ER anti-ship Missile
-- KIZILELMA and ANKA-3 armed with 100-150 km EREN , KUZGUN-TJ, TOLUN-IIR , KEMANKES-1 Missiles ( in internal weapon bays )

Nothing can survive in the Eastern Mediterranean

... Detection ...
E-7T AEWC can detect BELHARRA Frigate from 300+ km away from safe distance

The E-7T AEWC can provide mid-phase guidance and target updates to the TAYFUN Block-3 Anti-Ship Ballistic Missile and ATMACA-CAKIR-SOM anti-ship Missiles via datalink.

The E-7T is the best AEWC in the World and TURAF has 4 E-7T AEWC with 600 km AESA Radar

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

... fatal strike capability ...

The TAYFUN Block-3 is considered a highly fatal and asymmetric weapon primarily because it is an Anti-Ship Ballistic Missile (ASBM) designed to hunt moving naval Vessels at extreme speeds ( mach 5+ )

At these speeds, the time window for a Ship’s air defense radar to detect, track, and fire at the incoming TAYFUN-3 Missile is reduced to mere seconds, making interception nearly impossible

Kinetic Impact and Lethality
A Ballistic Missile hitting a Ship at several times the speed of sound carries immense kinetic energy. Even without its large high-explosive warhead exploding, the sheer force of a 2.3-ton object traveling at hypersonic speed striking a warship from above can physically fracture the hull of a large surface combatant, such as a Frigate or Destroyer, resulting in catastrophic failure or instant sinking

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tactical deployment of the BARBAROS Coastal Defense System

The BARBAROS System is highly agile, capable of deploying, firing, and packing up to leave its position within roughly 5 minutes

250-400+ km ATMACA/ATMACA-UM Missile with RF seeker / IIR seeker

The E-7T AEWC can guide and update the target of the ATMACA-UM Missile via a tactical data link

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

AKINCI UCAV to carry 200 km CAKIR anti-ship Missile
F-16s to carry 275 km SOM-J anti-ship Missile
F-16s to carry 280 km SLAM-ER anti-ship Missile

The E-7T AEWC can guide and update the target of the CAKIR and SOM-J Missiles via a tactical data link

Also It will enter the inventory in 2027
500+ km 300-ER air launched high supersonic Ballistic Missile ( mach 4 ) with TV camera seeker to hit even moving Warships

Not to mention other cost-effective Missiles like KUZGUN-TJ, TOLUN-IIR , KEMANKES-1 and EREN which can be launched from Turkish KIZILELMA and ANKA-3 unmanned stealth UCAVs internal weapon bays to hit Warships from safe distance

Greece doesn't have this much variety of Missiles, not even France does
