TAYFUN Block-3 is considered a highly fatal and asymmetric weapon primarily because it is an Anti-Ship Ballistic Missile (ASBM) designed to hunt moving naval Vessels at extreme speeds ( mach 5+ )
At these speeds, the time window for a Ship’s air defense radar to detect, track, and fire at the incoming TAYFUN-3 Missile is reduced to mere seconds, making interception nearly impossible
Kinetic Impact and Lethality
A Ballistic Missile hitting a Ship at several times the speed of sound carries immense kinetic energy. Even without its large high-explosive warhead exploding, the sheer force of a 2.3-ton object traveling at hypersonic speed striking a warship from above can physically fracture the hull of a large surface combatant, such as a Frigate or Destroyer, resulting in catastrophic failure or instant sinking
