Turkish Sensor and Detector Programs

Turkey is one of only 4 Countries in the world capable of producing all four of these critical detector technologies (QWIP, InGaAs, InSb, HgCdTe), and actively uses these components in its national platforms and electro-optical systems

1. HgCdTe (Mercury Cadmium Telluride / MCT) Systems
-- Aselsan ASELPOD targeting System
-- IIR seekers ( SUNGUR , BOZDOGAN )

2. InSb (Indium Antimonide) Systems
InSb is the premier Medium-Wave (MWIR) material
-- IIR seekers ( ATMACA , CAKIR , HISAR , OMTAS , UMTAS )

3. InGaAs (Indium Gallium Arsenide) Systems
Operating in the Short-Wave Infrared (SWIR) band
-- Laser guided munitions
-- Naval Optronics
-- TOYGUN EOTS
-- KARAT IRST
-- TULGAR HMDS

4 . QWIP (Quantum Well Infrared Photodetector) Systems
QWIP is an exceptional Long-Wave (LWIR) technology
-- ASELFLIR-500/600 E/O System
-- ATS-70 / ATS-140 ultra-long-range thermal imaging Systems

Chinese Systems are inferior to Western technology including Turkish

If you don't know something or haven't read about it, don't assume it doesn't exist. That's terrible reasoning.

You have big China love with communist regime propaganda
.... whole world know about it

Chinese Systems are inferior to Western technology including Turkish

even AI says same things

There is no a Company in China similar to Turkish ASELSAN

Chinese UCAVs sucks with their low quality E/O Systems
and why Pakistan prefered Turkish ASELPOD targeting Pod instead of Chinese one to use on the JF-17 Fighter Jets ?

because Chinese Targeting Pod sucks

China has chosen to jump directly to T2SL (Type-II Superlattice) technology instead of QWIP in the long-wave (LWIR) high performance segment and has shifted its investments to this area.

Germany : only HgCdTe , InSb , T2SL

Germany lacks InGaAs and QWIP

QWIP :
only USA , Turkiye , France and Israel

Turkish Aselsan produces even T2SL (Type-II Superlattice) infrared detector technology

The Chinese say that Turkiye does not have an electronics industry

Reality : Turkiye is among the top 4 in the world for electronics industry

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Turkiye has localized T2SL technology, following QWIP, in infrared sensors, which are the most critical component used in targeting Pods (ASELFLIR series) of UAVs, Helicopter avionics and missile seeker heads.

The number of countries capable of producing these advanced multi-processor CPU/DSP/FPGA cards, used for image processing, target tracking, and data bus control, and the military architectural components on them, is very limited worldwide

USA , The UK , France , Turkiye , China , Israel , Germany

just as it is in electro-optics. ASELSAN's high-performance domestic processor cards used in its electro-optical systems (ASELPOD, ASELFLIR, etc.) manage real-time multi-target tracking, AI-based image enhancement, and military communication protocols such as MIL-STD-1553/ARINC-429.

Those who are unaware of how Turkish ASELSAN has become a technology giant in the world

in 2017 , ASELSAN added another achievement to its successes in electronic design technology at the competition. Participating with its High-Performance Multi-Processor Computer Board made with Mentor Graphics Xpedition Enterprise product, ASELSAN won the second prize in the "Computer and Memory Systems" category.

ASELSAN received the second place award in the world at the international PCB Technology Leadership Awards, considered the "Oscar" of the electronic design world.
1 Israel
2 Turkiye

ASELSAN multi-processor board architecture is designed for use in radar signal processing, electronic warfare, and especially in real-time video image processing pipelines (target tracking, image focusing) of high-altitude electro-optical targeting systems like ASELPOD

The best targeting Pods in the World

USA : SNIPER
France : TALIOS
Turkiye : ASELPOD
Israel : LITENING

What makes these 4 Countries special is their ability to produce the entire supply chain (exempt from embargoes like ITAR) within their own territories, from the optical lens inside the pod to the CPU board that processes the data and the infrared detector that sees the target.

Perhaps only Russia's T220 pod (for Mig-35 and Su-35) or China's WZ-5/YINGS-III pods could be added to this list

however, both are considered to lag behind the aforementioned league of four giants (especially by Western and NATO standards) in terms of component quality, software stability, export success, and electro-optical accuracy.
