One of the rare cases where European, American and Turkish interests align.
They all support Pashinyan today but the Russians are hauling in thousands of Armenian immigrants to vote for the opposition.

NEW — Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who cast his vote in the parliamentary elections in Armenia:
“We are currently at peace with Azerbaijan, thank God. And of course, I expect the normalization of relations with Turkey and the establishment of diplomatic ties.”
“I hope that, alongside the borders, railway and highway connections with Turkey will open soon.”
“Our government’s ‘Peace Crossroads’ project will be very beneficial for Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Iran.”
“I am confident that the people will win. This is not a personal matter. I expect the Armenian people to win.”
He's lying, though. Iran, Russia and partly the Aliyev regime are going to lose if he wins today.
I didn't say it's bad for us but Pashinyan's potential victory doesn't bode well for Russia & Iran. I partially included Aliyev because he will lose his personal scapegoat. Things in Azerbaijan are beyond repair right now. The economy is throughly messed up. The oil-rich nation is about to fall back behind its peers in the Caucasus. No jobs, no perspective, no industry, just the regime and its cronies. The non-existing media coverage is misleading. Azerbaijan is boiling beneath the surface. No this is good for Turkey and even Azerbaijan, b/c Pashinyan has pledged to change the constitution where he will remove all references to land outside of Armenia's internationally recognized land, meaning the Karabakh and Kars stuff will finally be over, and with it a full peace treaty with Azerbaijan. And Turkey getting a road/rail route through Nakchivan to Azerbaijan.

Armenia is in Asia, not Europe. Not that Europe is a continent in itself, technically, but Aremina will not be allowed into EU because that is a ploy for Armenia to join NATO, which would mean a very definite prospect of a future war between Armenia and Azerbaijan which the Europeans would love to start. They could use the war as a bargaining chip to get nearly free access to the Azerbaijani and Caspian Sea oil/gas, which they dream about all day every day 24/7/365/1000. Russia can see it coming and so does Turkiye. That war would also allow them to open a European controlled smuggling oute for the Iranian oil/gas into Europe. It will be like the good old days of the East India Company and the Dutch West India Company all over again.Lets see, people think that Armenia is somehow going to join the EU and there will be european troops in Armenia or whatever, but they are mistaken, b/c for any of that to be viable, there are only two ways, either this happens via Turkey(which I don't think Turkey will allow b/c it conflicts with its own interests) or via Georgia. And thats where the difficulty starts, b/c Georgia is currently under Moscow's proxy influence, and Moscow will never allow Georgia to be a conduit for the west into the Caucasus. If every there was a govt change in Georgia to someone aligned with Sakashvili, we may see an Russian invasion from Abkhazia come all the way down to Batumi, to seal off the Caucasus physically to western access.
edit:
Here is a map of the autonomous republics and brekaway regions of Georgia. If Georgia looks like its leaving the Russian sphere, Moscow will intervene and cut off the sea by creating an Adjarian republic and then connecting it to Abkhazia.
Doing so would seal off any western opening into the Caucasus(outside of Turkiye)
