Thats whats really upsetting.

Turkey kept the entire eastern border closed for them, now he is pivoting to seeing Israel as an ally over Turkiye. And lashing out over something the government didn't even do, but regular people on social media.

Its the lack of appreciation. How can you put Israel before Turkey?

See if Israelis are willing to go fight for them if Russia invades.

For 30 years, we trained their soldiers, supplied equipment from our own stockpiles, and even sent generals during the war. But the first thing they did was deny all of it and turn against us.


I guess Aliyev thinks there won't be another war. But the region is highly unstable; Russia, Iran, and potentially Armenia remain major threats to Azerbaijan. I hope a war doesn't happen, but if it does, Aliyev should never come to us for help—let him ask Israel instead.

A lot of “secular” Muslim majority countries are like that. The ones yelling for secularism flee to the west while the average practicing Muslim is left having to defend their country.

B/c unlike Israel or Russia, Turkey has actual social impact on the Azeri population, and sees that as a challenge to his own rule.

He is blaming Turkey for people protesting right now. But the govt didn't do anything, Turkish people on Turkish social media said something and it had an effect on Azeri people, that element he sees as a threat b/c its not under his control.

It went way beyond a social media war. Aliyev completely ignored all of Turkey's efforts and made statements that violate the bond of brotherhood. Forgetting that it’s just a small country of 10 million people, Azerbaijan betrayed Turkey. After this, our relations will never reach the level of 'brotherhood' again.

Until now, not a single person in Turkey would speak against Azerbaijan. But after this ungratefulness, public opinion of Azerbaijan in Turkey will hit rock bottom

The comments are as if the relations are a one-way street where Turkey helps Azerbaijan and not a mutually beneficial alliance.
