Actually, this shouldn't be considered in dollar terms

Because Turkiye is not a country like X Country that buys almost everything from abroad; on the contrary, Turkiye is a country that produces its own weapons more cheaply

only one example :
X Country buys American HARPOON anti-ship Missile for $1,2-1,4 million per unit
Turkiye produce its own ATMACA anti-ship Missile for less than $500.000

So, Turkiye's defense budget will be minimum three times larger than X Country's in cumulative value

Turks to cover whole Turkiye for $24 billion ( STEEL DOME air defense umbrella )
If Turkiye had purchased this from abroad, it would have had to pay at least $75 billion USD

To be fair those GDP forecast are not written in stone nor the actual budget these are goals und planned conditions they can still change but a large increase toward 3.5/5% mark is expected

This is a massive increase, and a huge budget of at least $100 billion to teach a lesson to small countries like Greece and Israel who have been acting increasingly disrespectfully towards Turkiye lately
