It may be the case that communities who are part of a weak community "back home" tend to act up more as a diaspora group, for attention and some sort of "identity" that their forefathers failed miserably in attaining back "home".

Over the last 6 to 9 months, there are MANY uk sikhs who have turned up online being VERY vocal about racism and maintaining the sikh culture and identity. Some like bobby singh are even calling for "south asian" solidarity. Have no idea what prompted all of this as for nearly 30 years the uk sikhs were supporting the british far-right against Pakistanis and Muslims. Perhaps the increase in far-right racism against indians is the cause of this? Perhaps not having a homeland of your own may cause this too?
