United States elections 2024: Donald Trump Wins

Specially bad for the Palestinians.

That’s like saying that Biden was being gentle on the Palestinians and Trump will be tough. Biden only allowed 200,000 Palestinians to be slaughtered, including 100,000 women and children. What can Trump do that is worse? Kill them all?

And for Iran, they have to think about their retaliation against Israel really hard.. now that a Mad man is going to be in the white house, I am sure, Iran may not want to be his first victim ..

It’s clear the Dems have to shift right. The country is tired of being force fed woke propaganda and hordes of illegals crossing the border.

Plus I'm pretty sure the shoplifting chaos made Biden look soft on crime..which is a big no-no.

Again just like with Hillary people are going to wonder how all the election projectionists blew it by saying there is no way Trump will win.
In fact, even the polls that indicated that he would win were very close and that it would be a very close election, but that was not the case. The votes were counted much more quickly this time, and the election was decided in less than 24 hours.

Trump has won - what a remarkable comeback

Anthony Zurcher
North America correspondent

Donald Trump has done it again. Eight years after his stunning upset of Hillary Clinton and four years after Joe Biden evicted him from the White House, the former president is now the next president.

His victory represents a remarkable comeback for a man who left the presidency amidst the wreckage of 6 January, with his reputation seemingly in tatters. After being roundly condemned by Democrats and even some Republicans, he set out on a four-year journey that returned him to the pinnacle of American power.

Trump was at times unfocused and abrasive in his rally speeches, but he surrounded himself with a savvy, professional staff. Surveys indicated that Americans trusted Trump on the top two issues of this election - immigration and the economy - and his campaign relentlessly hammered his message on them.

While Trump’s team appeared initially uncertain about how to handle the late switch from Biden to Kamala Harris, the former president ultimately found his footing and rode the wave of anti-incumbent sentiment back to the White House.

Now he has four more years to govern - this time with a more developed political organisation behind him, eager to turn his campaign promises into action.

Democrats should have never let someone like Kamala stand against Trump.
Trump uses harsh language and bullying tactic.

Sometimes in order to fight a bully youll need a strongman who shows the bully his place and humiliates the bully. Hopefully someone in the US starts to understand this now.

Keeping Trump and the US on side is paramount for Europe's leaders

Europe’s leaders half expected, but are arguably only half prepared for, a Donald Trump victory.

Good relations with the US, the continent’s most powerful ally, is of paramount importance to Europe - economically and in terms of security.

France’s president, the prime ministers of Italy and of Hungary, the European Commission president and the president of Ukraine all rushed to congratulate Donald Trump this morning.

They were careful to mention strategic bonds, historical transatlantic partnerships or similar, regardless how close - or not - their personal politics are to his.

They remember well - and many worry - that Trump is no fan of Nato, the transatlantic military alliance, that he’s boasted he could end the conflict in Ukraine in a day, and also his threat to slap protectionist blanket tariffs of up to 20% on European imports.

On the contrary, Iranian bombing of Israel will be a serious blow to Trump and his government.

The election is close.

NC and PA are the major different, If Harris win both and Harris would have won the election without even taking Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Wisconsin and Arizona. The vote that separate Trump and Harris is 350k between the 2 states (165k in PA and 190k in NC), that's less than the vote of a medium size county in any one of the state, you are talking about 2.8% swing of all the vote in these 2 states. That's very close as 2.8% is nothing

The reason why the count is quick is because they change the method of counting, not because Trump won in a land slide, in fact, those 2 states would still count as a toss up and will be 2028 battleground states. Bear in mind US election is NOT about popular vote, yes, he won the popularity vote by 5 million (or something like that last time I check) it's that 350,000 voter within the 12 million in those 2 state change the outcome for her, that's why this is a very close race actually.

Making Kamala the VP was the problem. They needed a black woman to get votes for Biden but the chances of a black woman winning an election was never there. The mistake was there at the time of choosing her as the VP candidate.

Taxes, immigration and abortion - a look at Trump's policies

BBC
Now we know Donald Trump has won and will be the next US president, let's remind ourselves where he stands on some key issues:

  • The economy: Trump has promised to "end inflation and make America affordable again" - he says he'll do this by expanding US energy production and opening areas such as the Arctic wilderness to oil drilling to lower energy costs.
  • Taxes: He's proposed a number of tax cuts worth trillions, including an extension of ones he enacted in 2017, which mostly helped the wealthy. Trump says that he will pay for cuts through higher growth and tariffs on imports.
Economic deregulation, freeing up bureaucracy for business and reducing taxes, will make the economy boom. If what they promised is really done - major economic and tax reforms - we sincerely hope for a major revival of the American economy.

The only problem would continue to be inflation and the public deficit.
