Immigrants are fine.
The US splits up the quota allowed in every year.
1) people with families already here
2) employment based immigration (company wants to hire you or you have a degree in demand)
3) lottery winners from countries with a tiny US diaspora (like Nepal).
4) Asylum seekers (that's a non-economic reason)
People jumping the border are mostly running from economic reasons but giving "asylum reasons". Running away from a poor country full of corruption and violence is not a legitimate asylum reason as the government isn't specifically targeting you.
If we are going to get a flood of people I'd rather it be degreed people instead,

I would like to go on record as saying this should have been done 40+ years ago.
Trump can't serve more than 2 terms so he doesn't have to worry about being voted out of office.

Yeah. But if I were American, I wouldn't allow companies hiring foreigners on a work visa to meet the qualification gap, J would have those companies training up Americans to fill that gap. US has a 330 million population, it can hardly justify skill shortage for immigration.

I totally agree...I had this argument already with my Liberal friend. The vast majority of people who came here with degrees didn't pay extreme tuition costs like people here are forced to. The college system here is a complete and utter scam.
Their elaborate and required administrative departments are just a devious way politicians have used to offset lost manufacturing positions.
The cries of "anything more than a 20 to 1 ratio of students to teachers won't work" is ridiculous as we have hospitals and tech jobs full of people who went to school in much higher ratios.
I think if the "DOGE" team really wanted to cut some waste they should nationalize the higher Education systems and move courses online or teach courses in huge halls at 1/20 the tuition. Opening up higher education to more people at less cost is not a negative.

The 'skilled worker' visa is the biggest scam going. It provides cheaper labor to companies who bribe politicians to keep the scam going.
I have already written elsewhere how 95 of the so-called skilled IT migrants (from most developing countries) would not pass a freshman year computer science test. It is trivially easy to get 'on paper' degrees and experience in these developing countries to score a 'skilled migrant' visa to the West.
I also heard how some people keep their H1-B visa current in the US even without a job by making arrangements with small, custom-made job shops to pay the minimum payroll tax to make it seem like they are employed.

The Democrats themselves have turned into a bunch of college educated dual-income atheist left wingers who have lost touch with their core constituents...who are not.
