I recently went to several hardware stores as I was in need of some nails, screws and tools. Not a single thing was made in America. Everything was made in China, Vietnam, Taiwan and India. His trade war , based on threats, bullying and tariffs has been a complete flop.

Yeah same here. The amount of damage he has done to american image and his failed trade war with china should make him one of the worst presidents. Then he goes back on his word and starts a war with a regional power and has no options to leave. Meanwhile China been watching shit show with popcorn. President Xi could never hurt america the way trump has thats why chinese love this guy lol

Let's be honest here. The situation as you describe it has been in place long before Trump started even his first term.

Is it annoying, frustrating and irritating? Yes, it absolutely is. I have Craftsman tools that are Made in America. Craftsman Tools today are now made in People's Factory #462 in the People's Republic of China.

The General Electric X-Ray division was US-based for over 100 years until it moved to China. In 2011. Care to guess who the "man" was then? Hint: not Trump. General Electric also moved its rail equipment business to China during the same time frame. That division was a MAJOR employer in my hometown in Pennsylvania. A number of my friends' parents worked there.

Navistar moved its engine manufacturing to China at the same time.

All of this was BEFORE Trump's first term.

Oklahoma will be electing a new Governor this year.

Lived in Oklahoma for nearly 12 years. Solid Republican, but not looking good for them if one is polling yard signs. This is the first year I am seeing Democrat yard signs out number Republican yard signs, by a wide margin.

Two years ago, one hardly seen a yard sign for a Democrat. This year, the opposite. The only signs for Mazzei are the large ones the well off folks put up. Maybe two in town.

The largest sign for Mazzei was just slashed (located just down the street from me), while Munson yard signs are popping up everywhere.

Republicans are in deeper #### than the polls say.

After ten years of Republican rule in Oklahoma, the pendulum is swinging back Democrat.

Last month, following a meeting between Xi Jinping and Donald Trump, China and the United States reached an agreement on reciprocal tariff reductions amounting to $30 billion. Shortly thereafter, China’s Ministry of Commerce released the specific details.

One particular detail, however, was overlooked by many Western English-language media outlets: in the information released by the Ministry of Commerce, China’s imports of coal from the United States were explicitly highlighted.

Objectively speaking, China does indeed import coal from many countries. This is driven primarily by the massive demand from the coal-chemical industry, rather than by a need for fuel. Furthermore, China has a highly diversified range of sources for its coal imports—including neighboring countries like Mongolia and North Korea, as well as various other major coal-producing nations—all while being a significant coal producer itself. Importing coal from the United States is by no means a critical necessity for China; it is merely a marginal, optional arrangement. Nevertheless, this specific arrangement has been highlighted by China’s Ministry of Commerce.

However, if we examine this closely, we can uncover some very intriguing details.

Where are the primary coal-producing regions in the United States?

What is the connection between these regions and U.S. political elections?

Why has China’s Ministry of Commerce specifically emphasized—and prioritized—the import of U.S. coal at this particular juncture? The option of "China importing soybeans from the United States," which has attracted widespread attention, is not included in the list of $30 billion in reciprocal tariff reductions.

I invite you to conduct your own research and analysis.

I sadly agree with you. It could take decades if ever to repair the damage Trump has done

It's actually even longer than 2011. You see them move in 2011, but they can't just pack up and go immediately in 2011; You need to negotiate with local politician, build factory, train workers and middle management, it can't be done in a few short years. That decision to move to China is long before Obama (or even Bush) came to power.

My parents have several factory in China, Vietnam, and the US; we also had a factory in Hong Kong back in the 1970s. But completed the move to China in the late 90s. That is the time (late 90s, early 2000s) when all that foreign money came into China, and my family had decided to move part of our steelmaking in the US to China; it's the same time people in both the US and China asked about how they could set up their plants in China for foreign operation. We helped several people navigate the law and set up a factory in China in the early 2000s.

The door opened in China in late 1990 (early 1990s if you have connections), probably longer than that since Reagan was in power.
