US 2026 Midterm Elections Thread

LOL.

I once worked at the Motorola factory in Tianjin for a short period.

To be frank, back then, foreign-invested enterprises in China offered compensation and benefits far superior to those of domestic Chinese companies. They were also much more compliant with China’s labor laws. Consequently, they attracted a great deal of top-tier Chinese talent.

But, these foreign companies didn’t truly value that talent. After recruiting a large number of outstanding Chinese professionals, they assigned these people only to simple, basic tasks.

In terms of strategic development and management, these companies have consistently adhered to the rigid rules set by their global headquarters, refusing to adapt to the unique characteristics of the Chinese market. Back when local Chinese firms were still in their infancy, these foreign companies exerted absolute technological dominance, allowing them to reap enormous profits. However, as domestic Chinese enterprises began to rise, the technological gap gradually narrowed. A defining trait of these local firms is their agility—they do not feel bound by the "rules of the game" established by Western corporations when approaching the market. This has been a key factor in the gradual decline of many Western companies within China.
That's because they were not marketing in China; these companies simply make stuff in China and then ship it back to the US or Germany or whatever. They gear their entire company culture from wherever they were from

It's the same as a Chinese Factory or Company outside China now. A friend of mine works in a BYD showroom here in Australia; he had to take a company culture class to do the job, and they had a Chinese holiday (like Lunar New Year) off.
