US 2026 Midterm Elections Thread

There must be an increase in voter turnout this midterm, thats for sure.

lets see if the American people are looking at winds to change! But will it be enough, that is the question.....

Will Trump and Netanyahi accept the results.....?

are you guys planning on staying up all night for the results? :p

Tomorrow is the 4th.....wonder what'll happen with the war
The war is probably not going to change (Assuming you mean the war in Iran)

Trump see no reason to stop it, the Dem is going to use it to their advantage in 28 and not going to do shit or just do something on the surface........

Early numbers trend toward Democrats heavily, but considering less than 15% of the same-day vote is tallied, that seems to be the way a long time coming.

Well, unless they either expand the SCOTUS bench or the SCOTUS split went somehow different, it wouldn't matter to Federal Judge much if Trump/GOP still control the SCOTUS
This whole business of Republicans constantly saying dems are going to expand the court was getting old.

I remember when Biden was running they said the same thing. They said he would expand the court and, make Puerto Rico and the district of Columbia States

Never happened..

Sure if the votes go trumps way 😆 how he keeps talking about voter fraud but he won the election and so did republicans but now they seem to on the verge of losing they keep talking about the deep state trying to steal the election where was the deep state in 2024

Obama once said "I've got a phone and a pen,"
Part of this mess we have now is Congress has gladly ceded their responsibilities over the years. They've no one to blame but themselves though they never do.

Party politics instead of thinking about the country. The Ken Burns article at NY Times posted specifically mentions how once Nixon was made to leave POTUS office. But then Bill Clinton's BJs or Trump's shenanigans become trivial. There is a pattern in both political parties and the pattern reflects the decline in the society itself.

Yes they have. But they have not gone out of the way to block/hamstring the president (maybe they never got the chance). I do recall in Bush's last 2 years when Dems had control of both houses, they played along with all the admin asks. They could have hamstrung the gov especially during the financial meltdown.

I can't accuse the Republicans anymore than I can accuse the Democrats. But I will accuse the sore loser Trump!
've no doubt aircraft are being fueled and armed and pilots briefed as I post this.
Not serious, are you?!

The issue here is, if nothing is done in the next 2 years, we can expect the same voting pattern in 28.....Because nothing will change for the voter in 28.

People and their fickle memories! What a circus. Tired of Trump first term, they wanted an 'adult in the room' and got the senile Biden. Then they voted by 77 million back Trump to power. And now on course to make him a 'lame duck'. Come 2028, they will be swing back and then 2030 swing back. Policies get formulated and reversed. Rinse and repeat.
But he will most definitely continue to abuse his power like he is now, and I don't know if the Dems will do anything about it. That means the war is going to continue, and the direction will not change

Gosh, I hope you are wrong but you might be right!

man so sometimes when you start hearing the election results in Florida and the names that keep popping up and you start thinking well maybe they do control the world

Big shift in Florida after Gerrymandering....

Moody won by 1.8% (RCP Poll projects Moody +6.3; Trump won 2024 by 13.1)

3 out of 4 Dem Congressmen re-elected, the last one Dem winning by a razor-thin margin; they were expected to pick up all 4 seats after Gerrymandering.

Seems like the GOP is going to lose big in Congress. 11.3% Swing to Dem in post-gerrymandering Florida.........

Voting pattern is going to trend like this for a couple of more years, if not in the next decade, because it takes time to educate a new generation of voters to vote in their interest and not like American Idol........

I blame social media for how the voting cycle works........

North Caroline called

Cooper won by 28 points. (RCP had Cooper +11, Trump won 2024 by 3.2)

The first flip in the Senate race, but it's expected.

Honestly, wife is furious. She said a few minutes ago something like 'I hate the northerners (yankees) moving into South Carolina. They are the one making effing bitch Annie Andrews win!'. Not kidding: In words to that effect. Southerners can be quite parochial.
I tried to console her by saying 'It is too early to know. We may not know until midnight or tomorrow'. (But in my heart, I was smiling and she probably knows that) ;)
