US 2026 Midterm Elections Thread

No country was more worried about the Midterms before the Midterms than Israel and no country will be more worried about the new Congress than the Israelis. If you followed their press before the elections, you'd see that. And also look at Yair Lapid's Tweet which was posted just above.
They are really worried. And should be. As to Chuck Schumer, yeah, he is an Israel Firster but even he voted against Israel in the US Senate not long about about stopping the funding/military sales to Israel. The pressure to rein in Israel will be enormous and relentless in the US Senate starting January when the new Congressmen take oath.

Huge respect for El-Sayed. Not because we share same faith but he stuck to his guns and won against the machine. Even MAGA probably admiring him in secret. Hell yeah!

Huge respect to michiganders for showing middle finger to sticky zionists scumbag.

USA fist 👊

Prior to this election, Rep. Yassamin Ansari from AZ had already filed 6 Articles of Impeachment against Hegseth. Those articles will likely get traction in the new year.

Impeached or not, will the Senate have the votes to remove him? Same as the President, a 2/3-majority is required to vote for removal. In Hegseth's case, there might be enough Republicans who would go along with the Democrats. You never know.

As for impeachment? Go for it. Impeach him, the President, and every member of his cabinet. Do it every day. But without a 2/3-majority in the Senate to convict and remove, it's a waste of effort.

Some people here really do need to read up on the federal impeachment process.
Not sure if you're pointing to me about having to read up on the federal impeachment process.

All I said was I wouldn't be surprised if one of the first things they did would be to try to impeach hegseth

AZ's random musings on this and looking forward. TFWIW.

  1. War with Iran - all Iran had to do was live until the election. Trump's fecklessness to finishing the job assured that. The regime won big last night.
  2. The markets are up bigly today. Of course they are. Even an idiot would have seen that coming. The markets love gridlock because government is too busy fighting among itself to get things done.
  3. Not surprisingly, the usual suspects on the national talk shows are struggling, casting blame, distancing themselves, etc. I've been laughing at a few of them. Of the couple of guests who called it right, they are teetering between gloating or dealing with the harsh reality just how bad this rebuke is.
  4. Democrats made no secret prior to the election what their intentions were going to be should they regain one or both chambers. That rhetoric is about to become reality ensuring gridlock the next two years.
  5. Will Trump still order new attacks on Iran? Who knows? Right now, the markets are betting not. They are betting that Trump will be too embroiled in investigation after investigation, subpoena after subpoena, and impeachment after impeachment.
  6. We still don't know why the war with Iran was launched. "Iran was gonna have a nuke in weeks" has been uttered for far longer than I care to remember. Even North Korea, as whacked out as it is, isn't crazy enough to use a nuke first. MAD is a real thing. Perhaps had Trump told us why and showed the proof. There was a reason why Vance was not in favor of the war.
  7. You can blame Vance for MOU all you want. At the end of the day, it lands on Trump's desk.
  8. The economy. What did I say over and over and over again? Yay!! The markets are setting new records. The GDP is awesome. Fantastic. That's only one side of the story. Inflation in general, high fuel prices, etc., ALL factored into last night's vote.
  9. Gas prices are NOT going to come back down to the levels they were when Trump left office in 2021. If anything, you can absolutely count on the Democrats to use this to restart their Green New Scam.
  10. Texas - is about to become a huge mess. The governor elect is virulently anti-ICE, anti-cooperation with the feds on immigration, etc. She is on record for having voted AGAINST state legislation regarding immigration and cooperation with the feds. She has stated she will end that via EO on Day 1. Texas has now become an open door for illegals to again flood this country.
  11. Talarico - what was Texas thinking? Then again, Paxton had a LOT of baggage he just couldn't shake. There's no doubt Cornyn had to go. But Paxton? Seriously?
  12. Back to the Democrats. When they aren't busy investigating, issuing subpoenas, and impeaching, the few free moments they take to do anything will be nothing more than garbage legislation they know the President will veto. They in turn will use that for 2028 to say "see? We told you. Trump doesn't care about the people. We Democrats offer so much more for you. Just give us your votes." The race for 2028 is already underway.

There are people here of the mistaken belief that impeachment means removal.

It doesn't.

Now as Dems win the senate and house, we will see Indian wanna be whites will cozy up to Dems, suddenly they will become progressive, from my fraand dolaan trump to my dem ni***a. Historically Dems never been good for Pakistan, so guess the honeymoon period will soon be over, but in Pakistan's case it doesn't really matter, Pakistan was only doing some chaap lousy for Trump, but with dems in power now and even in 2028, will see more statements but on ground won't change much.

What still surpise me that TX and SC turns blue, for my Pakistani fellow's its like defeating Bhutto in Larkana and interior Sindh. I travel between Greenville to Myrtle Beach in SC, several times driving on country roads, big cities and towns, SC is all about Trump Trucks and Jesus. It came off as a surprise that SC went to Dems, and for Texas i mean who would've thought, i heard that last time TX was blue, its new senator Talerico wasn't even born, its insane. Well now as Texas is blue, which means Texas can reinstate the Shariah law which its white knight in chariot aka abbott has banned lol
