US 2026 Midterm Elections Thread

What still surpise me that TX and SC turns blue, for my Pakistani fellow's its like defeating Bhutto in Larkana and interior Sindh. I travel between Greenville to Myrtle Beach in SC, several times driving on country roads, big cities and towns, SC is all about Trump Trucks and Jesus. It came off as a surprise that SC went to Dems, and for Texas i mean who would've thought, i heard that last time TX was blue, its new senator Talerico wasn't even born, its insane. Well now as Texas is blue, which means Texas can reinstate the Shariah law which its white knight in chariot aka abbott has banned lol
Well, wonder no more:

These were the counties that pushed Talarico to the top:

The cities in those counties?
  1. Harris County - Houston
  2. Dallas County - Dallas
  3. Tarrant County - Ft. Worth
  4. Bexar County - San Antonio
  5. Travis County - Austin

It is essentially Repubs sitting this cycle out...
Will be hard for Dems to hold onto these gains next cycle.
I think it depends on how much dems willing to listen to their voters? we have Shumer and jeffries who are both bought and paid for by AIPAC, while democrat young voter is more leaning DSA policies of 0 aid for Israel, action against Israel for all the Americans they have killed, I don't think we are there yet because AIPAC/Israel would've seen this Republican defeat from miles away, i refused to believe that Israel and powerful Jewish lobby has not placed contigents in place. But it will be funny to see how the my Fraand Dolaan trump wanna be tough white guy brown Indian now suddenly become progressive just so they can garner some support against Pakistan, so their brothern back in India can gloat.

Had a friend in Austin TX, he work for net ops for the same company i worked for, he convinced me to apply for net ops job in Austin, but right at when my application was under review, they company went on hire freeze, my friend left the company to work for a data center, but he made a very convincing case for me to move to Austin. He was telling me that Austin is changing and thats around mid 2025. Not sure how progressive other cities like Dallas, Houston and San Antonio are, but it seems like a big shock for republicans that they lose TX, my fb/insta is full of reels about SC/TX. maybe i should give my ex-father in law a call and find out how he is holding up hahah

Apparently some parts of Florida too according to Steerlord.
It surprised me almost when i first move to Florida and how much of liberal and Gay Florida is, only to later got even more surprised when i find out Florida is republican state. @Davey Crockett i invite you move from the imaginary Oklahama to Villages in Florida, amazing place to retire (wink wink).

Austin is the liberal heartland of Texas. It was starting to change in the early 90s when I worked for Motorola.

Houston has been liberal for quite a few years.

Dallas, Ft. Worth, and San Antonio? Really shocks me given the history of those cities. Oil, cattle, etc.

Stephen Austin and the others who led the revolt to break away from Mexico are rolling in their graves.

I see this as a positive change, TX become a cesepool of not just dirty but disgusting politics, from ICE raids to imaginary Shariah law taking over, i don't blame the republican leaders but the voters, the leaders of TX consider their voters to be low IQ idiots who are been gaslighted with same repetative BS and scare tactic of Islamic take over or invasion on the border. Immigration system needs to be reform, open borders should not happen but i see no justification of the ways ICE raids the people's homes and business, there is a better way to do things. News was talking about the latinos who voted for Trump flip the TX blue, you will find the lation on latino racism very nasty even in Florida.
