That's what populism is, it's about the blame game and pointing fingers. That probably goes very well, I would say, hand in hand with American culture. Sometimes we don't want the issue solved; we just want to rant our anger, and that's why you watch Fox if you are a lefty to get piss (or CNN if you are a conservative) instead of just turning off the damn TV.
Somewhere down the line, politicians discovered that it's a lot easier to simply point the finger to blame a particular group instead of actually trying to solve an issue. Are you out of a job? That's because the illegals were taking them over? You don't feel safe? That's because Iran is chanting "Death to America" every night. I swear to God, I talked to someone from the South online, and he actually said that (Death to America) to justify the Iranian war. Yes, as if they can kill him all the way in Nevada from Iran.....
Anyway, modern politics uses the problem and the issue instead of the solution as a point of contention. You don't actually want the issue to get solved; you just want to rant about it. I mean, how is it going to solve the issue with the labor market and job loss by deporting all the illegal? You don't need a Postgrad Economic Student like to to tell you there is no correlation at all. Maybe if you are working in a farm or factory, I mean, illegals are not coming to America and working as an Apple Exec...... And what does some other state spend on them have anything to do with you? You don't live in California or New York. Let their government do their job, or how men playing women's sport (or vice versa) if you aren't playing those sports? What do you gain from that, unless you are a professional sportsperson and that affected you, that didn't concern you at all...... But it's probably more fun for people to get pissed on an issue whether or not it concerns them. I want lower gas, lower meat prices, farmers want lower electricity, and lower cost on Fertiliser and Pesticide; you aren't giving it to them by selling them Trans kids, pronouns, and Muslims....
Trump is another issue; not only did he do all that, but he also fanned out his idea so he can maximize profit for himself. Literally, he is making money from your hatred to Muslim, The Gay, The Trans and so on.
That's why we have the result we had yesterday, the problem is, after yesterday, you are still needing the Dem who will come in power later to do the right things and not do those things I just said above, and that's a tough ask, both side is doing the exact same thing, just on the opposite spectrum, and that's why most American are double hater.
