US Perspective on the Iran - Israel / US War

If the US Even failed to protect its bases across GCC and across the Middle East from Iranian attacks then how can one be confident that US mission is going well!!!

The US has intercepted 90%+ of Iranian missiles and drones. The US assumes its bases will be hit, which is why the USAF operates under the Agile Combat Employment strategy. We can’t intercept every drone and missile when thousands are fired, especially at short distances and flight times against bases in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar etc. The ACE strategy is designed to disperse aircraft and maintain operational tempo despite being under heavy fire.

The successful Iranian attacks haven’t really mattered though, as US operations haven’t been degraded. The US continues to operate out of GCC bases.

Reality must be difficult to accept. Iran has lost the war:

- Military is destroyed
- Infrastructure is destroyed
- Nuclear industry destroyed and HEU buried
- Under naval blockade and economy cratered
- Irans last card, Hormuz, is now mostly gone. See my last post above
- Iran has gotten nothing. Zero assets unfrozen, zero sanctions relief etc

USN performance has been excellent. Thousand of sorties and strikes and successfully defended against hundreds of attacks without taking a single hit.
Yes, it is.

The Strait is still contested waters. Iran still has the ability, and more importantly, the will to fight.

I don't see any moves on the part of Iran to capitulate.

The idea of drones was well known years ago. If you spend $3 million to shoot down or fail to shoot down a $3000 drone then that’s a game you are going to lose.

MQ-9s are war on terror era drones that were never meant to survive contested air space. I’m not at all concerned about that capability loss, especially as CCA and more advanced loitering drones become operational.

Airframe losses outside drones were historically low.

You pretending the 22,000+ US and Israeli strikes never happened? 80% of Centcoms target list were hit. ADM Cooper wanted to finish the remaining 20% last month, but that would require full combat operations to resume which Trump didn’t approve.
You are not in a position to be concerned about anything regarding operations out there.

I have friends out there.

The success that they achieved in Venezuela gave them an idea that will do the same. Should have learned from
Iraq and Afghanistan to not attack or invade Iran.

On 15 August 2026, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Iran's economic problems had become much worse since the war with the US and Israel.

He specifically said revenues had fallen because oil sales had declined, imported goods were now reaching Iran through more expensive alternative routes, and damaged factories were further hurting government revenues.

He summarised the situation by saying Iran's problems had “increased many times over” while its revenues had fallen.
