Purpose of this thread is dedicated to discussion of the current conflict between Iran with Israel and the US from the American perspective. Do be aware that ALL members are welcome to post here as well in the primary thread in the Iranian section. I for one want to see good quality discussion back and forth regardless of the side you support.

Initially, this discussion has been taking place in the US Defence Related thread. Unfortunately, and admittedly an error on my part, discussion now is so much around the current conflict that the original purpose of US Defence Related has lost its focus. Now, everyone can have an outlet dedicated solely to the war as well as return to the primary focus of US Defence Related which is topics of interest that do not necessarily warrant a dedicated thread.

Be advised that all forum rules still apply in this thread. Since it is dedicated to Iran - Israel / US, ONLY posts specific to the thread are allowed. Off topic posts will be dealt with quickly. Repeated offenses will earn a thread ban. Consider this to be the only warning. I am not alone when I say that the other mods and admins are well tired of the petty bickering, spamming, unverified or otherwise off topic posts. If something is posted from Twitter / Reddit / Instagram / Telegram / whatever, it needs to be verified and factual. There is already enough unverified or AI slop being posted as it is.

so tons of bombing/missile strikes of targets in Iran, no US pilots shot down over Iran, plenty of damage at overseas bases, some key refueling aircraft on the ground destroyed, plenty of anti-air missiles used up, some major radars/batteries destroyed, definitely a few US military deaths, some Navy LCU's may have been hit/destroyed but no major navy ships lost to missiles/torpedoes/bombs, seem to have air superiority at night and probably during the day too.

Diego Garcia and Crete's Souda Bay still outside Iran's reach and used as staging points. Cyprus got buzzed once.

so what next...

US cannot meet Iran war-induced LNG shortfall: industry leaders

Cheniere Energy CEO Jack Fusco said US energy producers are trying to get LNG to Asian nations who are affected by Iran's blockade of the Gulf due to the Middle East war

Business leaders are warning that the United States lacks the infrastructure to alleviate a global LNG shortage caused by the US-Israel war on Iran, which has kept a fifth of the world's energy supplies from leaving the Gulf.

Since you were big on Russia's 3 day military operation.

You'd know..

How's the "little excursion" at the sea going?

As to the loss of the E-3 at Prince Sultan base

It's a loss alright but because the crew is safe and....

Some of the AWACS were recently sent here but I think the E-2D is a much cheaper alternative/replacement.

From a tactical an operational standpoint, the US military has been dominant. They were given a clear set of objectives and they’ve executed almost flawlessly given the scale of operations.

And don’t compare this to Russia. Russia is losing more men every 30 minutes than the US has lost in a month of combat. There’s zero comparison to Russias disaster.
