US Perspective on the Iran - Israel / US War

Why should Pakistan bow to KSA and send troops in on their behalf? How about KSA step up instead and send their own troops in?

I highly doubt there will be a US-Pak partnership where US troops set foot again in A'stan. I would like to think the PA is more than capable of dealing with the Taliban.

Maybe @RescueRanger can correct me on the capabilities of the PA in dealing with the Taliban.

Iran has been a major threat for decades
Maybe for Israel and other Middle Eastern states. Certainly not for the American homeland . And if regime change was not an objective, why are Trumptards desperately claiming it has already happened ?

Here are some other wins for the USA that have resulted from this stupidity :
1. Gas at the pump has gone from a 2 to a 4 handle. The market has pivoted from pricing in Fed rate cuts to hikes.
2. NATO allies have openly refused to allow their territory and airspace for this war
3. Our most faithful friends from across the pond, who even backed us in the disastrous Iraq war, have openly broken with us.
4. Our closest GCC allies like the UAE and Qatar have been weakened the most strategically as a result of this war whereas Chinese allies like Pakistan have been strengthened the most.
5. India, which had agreed to stop buying Russian oil after months of pressure, is now openly buying not only Russian but also Iranian oil, which it had not bought for years.
6. Iran now controls passage through the Straits of Hormuz and Trump, whose policies resulted in this strategic defeat, is planning to just surrender control of this crucial passage and is openly asking allies he did not consult before starting the war to deal with this disaster on their own.

So, please explain to me how an outcome that strengthens China, Russia and their allies and weakens America's economy, prestige, moral authority and the strategic standing of our alliances and allies is a win for the American people.

Most of the MAGAtards and even the MAGA "intellectuals" are against this war. I don't think any other war in American history has been this unpopular just one month in. Trump understands this better than anyone else. That is why he is desperate for a face-saving exit.

If a ground war is going to happen in Iran, and it had to be a border intrusion, chances are this is probably coming from Turkey rather than Pakistan.

For starters, Pakistan is having its own war with the Taliban, which started a few weeks before Iran; they won't dive into another war just because the US or Saudi Arabia asks them to.

Second, there is more US equipment in Turkey than in Pakistan. We emptied most of our warehouse in Pakistan when we pulled out in 2021; they are either gone or given to the Pakistani Army. The Taliban probably had more of our equipment than Pakistan does.

And finally, we can't do anything without any build-up, and building up in Turkey is a lot easier than in Pakistan, and less conspicuous.

But this is BS anyway, neither Turkey or Pakistan will allow their border to be used as any invasion for Iran.

I thought skyking was the call sign only for their nuke forces ?

Most importantly , there is no political appetite in the White House for a ground war.

I don't know

What I know is they are going to get sucked into one if things don't change in the next 2 weeks. Time is running out, the last ship from Middle East arrived to Asia today, and they are counting down their strategic reserve.

Most Asian countries , including staunch American allies like the Philippines , have cut deals with Iran to allow tankers to pass through. There is no real shortage of oil. You just have to pay the embedded geopolitical premium, and, in some cases, protection money to Iran to buy it. That itself will trigger a recession and reduce demand for oil.

This war is already extremely unpopular. Sending troops on the ground will trigger a MAGA revolt.

I didn't as I was busy with a couple projects.

I am one of the handful of people here who did watch all of the Apollo missions.

I can't imagine the feeling of excitement and wonder at that time of the first landing by humans on another planet. The current mission is interesting since it is possibly a pathway to Mars(!), but I suspect a pale shadow of the first time. What a time that must have been!
